Forums - Nintendo - D3 bringing Family Party 30 Great Games: Obstacle Arcade to Wii U launch

UGH....

The Wii U’s launch date is still up in the air, but that hasn’t stopped D3 Publisher from announcing another launch game. The company has revealed plans to bring Family Party 30 Great Games: Obstacle Arcade to the Wii U this holiday season.

People of the Internet, please try to contain yourselves!

Family Party 30 Great Games: Obstacle Arcade will be released exclusively for the Wii U and will feature “dozens of hysterical obstacle courses, popular sporting events, and arcade and brain challenges” specifically designed for multiplayer play:

Family Party 30 Great Games: Obstacle Arcade is the latest in the top-selling Family Party franchise, coming exclusively to the Wii U system from Nintendo. Competitors will navigate through multiple locations in Family Party Land, a remote island divided by uniquely themed environments and obstacles to take on some of the wackiest challenges yet. Using the Wii U GamePad, players will be able to interact with their characters off-screen to enhance the gameplay and create a personalized touch. Obstacle Arcade delivers hours of family entertainment where players can choose from over a dozen family-friendly characters and challenge each other in up to four-player multiplayer in 30 diverse games. These over-the-top games include dodging barrels while on a horse, racing across obstacles floating on water, setting off and detonating fireworks, skydiving from above while avoiding a huge artillery of rockets being shot by other players and many more.

Zoo Games ruined the Wii, SOMEBODY'S gotta ruin the Wii U.

Like I said, these games will scare hardcore gamers away, and ruin the 3rd party support. Hopefully there are enough good launch titles to balance these out.

it looks like crap, but most of these types of games are, and the more there are of them on disc the more crap it is. Im not worried about Wii U though, its not going to be a bad situation where games like this were being released hand over fist like the Wii.

The Nintendo Seal of Quality has been a joke for 6 years now and counting, so we already knew this.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Not surprising. But a blatant coming...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

I've never seen so many people overreact to the announcement of a single title before. You would think no console ever had a shovelware party game before the Wii. Or since it, for that matter. Microsoft keeps churning out horrible Kinect games, but I don't hear anyone saying they're "ruining" the 360. They're just there, and no one is playing them. They don't diminish the quality of Halo 4.

Guess what? There were bad games on NES, too!

Their "olden days quality control" didn't stop the NES having as many crappy games as the Wii, if not more.
