typing this message with 1 hand

got a cranefly in net with othr hand- no paper or weapon to kill/release with

what should i do

Drag the net quickly so that the crane fly will stay in it and open and window or door and release it.

Alternately you could just grab a random piece of paper (I'm sure you have so lying around in your house) and put it over the net and release it out of a window or a door.

Whatever you do, don't kill it! It will put doo doo in your soul

I punched it to death- and I feel very guilty about it :( I did release its body out the window though; it's a thunderstorm outside, which is very fitting.

It was on the wall btw, hence why I couldn't move or it would just fly away and probably into my eye or something

Craneflys are my 3rd least favourite creature on the planet after spiders and wasps - they deserve to die, honestly :(

They deserve to die because you don't like them? Using that logic, you deserve to die because I don't like you. (I do like you, I'm just using this as an example)

Insects don't have feelings though, right? Just instincts - I don't see the issue

If they are anything like moths... you could have taken a flash photo of it, I did that to a moth once and thought I'd killed it, turned out it was just stunned for about 2 minutes.
