I got my PC C.E. from the SQEX store but I actually tried to cancel it and they wouldn't let me. A quick browse over ebay and the thing is running for 120+ with no bonus codes. Could easily score much higher with them if I decided to sell it there.

Guys i havent played in the latest betas. Is the global cooldown on the game still 2.5 seconds or more? Or did they change that?
Looks like an Garlean Imperial base. With a Scholar's Fairy, and a Summoner's Garuda Egi.
Demon Wall
Garuda battle
@Nem
The GCD is 2.3 seconds. Think of it as an ATB system with a new graphic.
Hmm that s a bit better but not good yet.
I know what it is, The thing is a play SWTOR and i played WoW and GW for years before that and the combat feels too slow with the long GCD's. Its the only problem i got with the game.

Some people say its to slow, and some even say its to fast. The truth is, the GCD can be shorten with equipments, and food buffs. This also decides the entire balance of the game because the entire game has been built upon this core mechanic. You perform an action, that action executes, and you wait a given amount of time until taking the next action. It gives you a 2.3 second chance to think about your next move.
I think its useful when you level up more, and have unlocked more abilities. You can level up another class and combine those abilities with a different class, and place it in your hotbar making it more complex.

Yeah, but suffering through a grind of 50lvls and equipment grind to get the combat to be fast paced seems to be much to ask. Its an old jrpg design flaw that needs to go. I want a fun game to play since the start.
I might still give it a go, but im not pleased they havent adressed that yet.

Every Final Fantasy game has a form of an ATB combat system where you have to wait a few seconds after every action. I guess you don't like those games either lol? I don't think they'll change it because they're trying to stick with the Final Fantasy feel I suppose.
Disappointed that Demon Wall is 4 man content. Its doomed to be easy and not worth effort after the first run :(

Global cooldown is not something invented by FF, and its not the same thing as ATB. ATB has you waiting for your turn and determine how fast each character gets their turn. Global cooldown is a lock put in place so you cant spam your skills.
I know you're trying to devalue the issue, and coming to grips with it like its a feature of the game, but it isnt. Its a lock put in place to prevent not only the spamming but the possible clipping of animations and the ammount of stress put on the server. A long GCD has an explanation, its either by design or by technical limitations. Either way, its not a positive thing. Apologies if this somehow stresses you. I would like for the game to be a sucess, but they cant expect players to keep playing the game when they are bored. Its not the days of FFXI anymore. they need to up the tempo a bit.
As you say, it might be at its fine at high level. The question is if its too late by then. :)

I'm not devaluing any issue here Nem, but what you said there actually sounds like its an ATB system. I've explained this before a few times already on separate occasions, and I suggest you take a stab at this news. See source below. Copy and pasted directly from the beta forum.

I know that the beta test is still somewhat laggy, and you guys haven't had a lot of time to really dig into the game yet, but as you progress in level, your characters will acquire a variety of skills to use in battle. This includes combos, weapon skill and action rotations, debuff skills, and crowd control skills. As you acquire more skills to use in battle, the 2.5 second GCD won't seem as long as you think it is. I hope you all will continue testing and explore the potential of the current system."

It means the same thing I've been saying all along. Its a core mechanic built into the game, and it works the same way for monsters. Its not a limitation, its a different form of an ATB.
As I've said before, some people on the beta forum are saying the combat is to fast, some are saying its slow, and its definitely not the same like FFXI. I'm not trying to stress you out here. I'm just giving everyone in this thread information they can trust with reasoning, not bullshit.
One more thing. Abilities run on (timers). Weapon skills run on GCD.
