I definitely felt the ordeal of Snake reading playboy in the middle of a warzone. It was tough but we both made it.

Pokemon Games. They have the best stories of all.

OT: Hahahahahahahahaha. *catches breath* HAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry but, this has to be a miss-translation.

Guys this is bullshit! The story is what seperates good games from great games.

I could not possibly disagree more strongly. It's a good thing too considering that at least 99.9% of video game story telling is trash.

@OP

What is Kojima on? Is he even aware that he may actually be the very worst offender in this regard?

FF stories are pretty good concepts. The execution is lacking on some levels though, both due to developing constraints and trying to appease the market, something that never really works. The same goes for the game on your avatar really.

“It’s very difficult to implement a storyline into an interactive game,” he said. “I actually think we shouldn’t do that. I am not trying to tell a story.”

I think what he means is that his goal isn't to tell a story. He just used a story to do the quote below.

“You are inside a story, an environment, and acting as a certain character,” he said. “And what that character is feeling inside that environment is what I want the players to feel as they play the game. Within that environment I want the players to not only have a fun and exhilarating experience, but also think about many different things. That’s my concept.”

And he did a great job of it in MGS, MGS2, and MGS3. But MGS4 was lacking a little.
