I keep getting things spoiled for me now that I watch online. Great to see USA be strong

Your table in your sig is incorrect just so you know...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Up to 4th in the medals table, may well end up in 3rd come the end of the day!

Another Jurist in the semis for GB as well!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Here in the US, channels covering the medal counts just base it on total medals. So the chart would say, 1. US, 2. China, 3. Japan

Yes, they do that because they can't stand being in second place... but they are.

If USA were #1 in gold, but #2 in total medals, they would cover the medal counts based on golds... not in total medals.

That's because it'd place the Americans in first, and drop the UK down a couple places. But it's not how the official table is. This is the official medals table, from the official Olympics website:

Don't you think it'd be unfair is Slovakia was ranked on level with Kazakstan, for example? Your media outlet is wrong, they're just spinning it in their favour.

And a great day so far today, with a great match with the Tennis, 8-8!

good athletics, some of these babes are hot,not like back in the day with doping days

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

Bronze to Brazil... Rafael Silva, Judo.

Congrats.

Looking back at the 2008 medal count, it is a bit absurd that US would rank themselves higher than China by 10 medals, while China had 15 more gold medals.... As for the Olympic style rankings, countries like Japan would be getting hurt as it does not recognize the 17 medals they earned so far that aren't gold unless there is a tie. In the end, all of the countries are putting up a good performance for the viewers.

the kiwis got themselves a few golds today, well done

edit- amazing athletics crowd too you don't get that often if at all for the morning session the other athletes must be delighted to play infront of crowds like that

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

Holy Crap! Japan really dropped because of all those Bronze's!
