The 1 representative per country per event in track cycling events was a joke to be honest. The idea that you could have numbers 1 and 2 in the world but only put in one. If they do this for Cycling why not Swimming? Why not Athletics? while yes, Bolt or Phelps might still win, it will give other nations a chance to put up a challenge and to put people through.

They removed Wiggin's track event limiting his olympics and medal. I'd love to see the madison back in it. Track cycling at the olympics was gimpped this time and it shouldn't have been.

Phelps is only so prolific because he's been allowed to enter so many events because he has the chance too. I'd change the rules in Swimming so a person is only allow to swim in 3 events, giving more chances for medals for other countries and fair races. I don't care if they are the best, they can prove that in their designated world championships.

personally when it comes to track and field in the olympics for me if you cannot meet a certain standard then you shouldn't be competing,its the top of the sport,the days of amateur are long gone for athletes,a lot of these olympians are very rich not that you hear about it of course,

same can be said for all other sports, I love watching gymnastics, and it depresses me to know that some of these athletes cannot do what they do best, they have to do routines they're not famaliar with just to please judges because of the judging system.

a good example is 2000 Sydney Olympics, the female gymnast who won the beam, her specialty was actually uneven bars, but a change of judging system took away all her advantages (moves only she would pull off) so she was forced to do beam instead, she still put on an excellent performance and managed to win, but we as audiences did not have a chance to see the best of her.

IOC has been doing this to many other sports, why do they just spare swimming and athletics? it's not a matter of standard, it's a matter of fairness.
