same can be said for all other sports, I love watching gymnastics, and it depresses me to know that some of these athletes cannot do what they do best, they have to do routines they're not famaliar with just to please judges because of the judging system.

a good example is 2000 Sydney Olympics, the female gymnast who won the beam, her specialty was actually uneven bars, but a change of judging system took away all her advantages (moves only she would pull off) so she was forced to do beam instead, she still put on an excellent performance and managed to win, but we as audiences did not have a chance to see the best of her.

IOC has been doing this to many other sports, why do they just spare swimming and athletics? it's not a matter of standard, it's a matter of fairness.
