Forums - Nintendo - Wii: A truly great console

So guys now you plan on getting the wii u what's going to happen to your wii? Is it destined for the attic to collect dust for the next 30 years before you re discover it again, are you selling it or passing it on? What games might you keep from your collection? I'm keeping mine as I have a terrible history of not keeping old hardware and prob be still playing a bit longer yet as i want a black wiiu which prob won't be out for sometime plus there's still games I haven't played yet, I've got excite truck on the way, want pandoras tower, yet to play Mario galaxy 2 and might even get get the last story. It's been a truly great console for me and when I get a wiiu will prob put my wii back in it's box and will keep most of my games :)

It all entirely depends on Nintendo should they allow Gamecube games playable on Wii U. At this point in time, my family and I still enjoy the console greatly.

Its a shame you didnt play Mario Galaxy 2, even I have finished that game 2 years ago. Great game.

Stay away from Pandoras Tower tho, time limit makes the game so annoying.

It will stay where it is for a while yet, The last story is out next month and i still have not played Xenoblade (DQX ?). I play GC game here and there and don't know when or if ill get a Wii U. It has been a decent console, with a few Amazing games that made it worth it.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

The Wii is/was an amazing console. I'll be keeping mine when Wii U launches so that I can still play the GC discs I have on it. Plus, I get to keep using the best controller, the GC one if I keep it. Once Wii U is out, it may be left to gather dust for a while, but I know that I will keep going back to it so that I can play Chibi-Robo, Pikmin and Paper Mario: TTYD in their original control schemes.

Mine might even become a netflix player in the living room, and our lass will prob use it for zumba and wii fit

It's been collecting dust since a week after I bought it, what a mistake it was.

Try not to shed so many skin cells then it wouldn't collect so much dust.

So you bought it... but didn't continue buying games? I think that is more of your mistake, Millenium. A console is what you make it.

Unless you hated every game that came out for it.

I use mine more as a Netflix player now than gaming on it since I've gotten the 3DS.  However, I still have a ton of VC / WW games on it that I have barely played or haven't even played (along with 5-7 Wii games).  So there is still a lot of gaming potentional left for me.  Main thing I am hoping for right now is that we better be able to transfer all the games (Club Nintendo account) we downloaded on the Wii to the Wii U.  It wouldn't make sense if it was done any other way.
