Guns serve a single purpose and a single purpose only: killing.

That isn't true at all.  Shooting is a sport to many people.  I've shot at clay pigeons numerous times in my life.  Not to mention this shooting that you say is only meant for killing has been a part of the summer olympics since the olympics began.  Hell, there is even a tv show called Top Shot on History channel that involves shooting.

Sorry, but you failed pretty badly by saying that baseball bats have other uses but guns don't.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

I'll end with this statement because arguing with liberals on a video game forum is useless.

You may never need a gun (and hopefully you don't), but when you need one, you need it BADLY

And you may never stare down a barrel and think, "I wish that person didn't have a gun," but if you ever do, you will wish it BADLY.

I wouldnt need to think that if i had a gun in the first place :)

And please dont give me that liberal pacifist bullshit, because its never going to happen

Do people really think outlawing guns will keep psychopath murderers from getting them? There's a reason outlaws are called like that. You know...

They break the law.

The guy even rigged his house with explosives, for fuck's sake. And I'm pretty sure you can't buy explosives just like that. What are you going to ban? Fertilizers? Glicerine?

Please!

Also take your time to look, for instance, at the Norway Killer log's to see what a sick and twisted but otherwise calm, reasonable mind can do to get what he wants, and I'm pretty sure gun control is much stronger on Norway than on the USA. Psychopaths go to any lengths.

Also I'm pretty sure if that retard went down an average road on his murdering rampage and then was shot down by an average Joe who bothered to carry his gun for some extreme case this discussion would be much different.

P.S. Sal.Paradise, for fuck's sake, stop with the childish answers. If you can't post a reasonable answer at least don't post BS like that to annoy people.

Yes, but by making it illegal, you leave a dramatically much smaller pool of people with guns. There will still be the extremists, yes. But it would still prevent a lot of the less extreme criminals imo.

We have some stupid people in this world. It's quite pathetic.

I'm pretty sure you have to have a license anyway.

It definitely works in the UK, we may be an island, but it's still pretty clear that countries with strict gun laws have far less shootings. People like that see guns as an opportunity, they aren't going to go on a rampage with a kitchen knife. This is coming from someone who is a gun enthusiast and often goes shooting with the only guns which are legal here (double barrel shotguns).

My opinion on gun ownership is simple; the average person is too irresponsible and too stupid to be allowed to own something as dangerous as a gun.
