Honestly I wasn't impressed with ZombiU. It's not that the game looks bad or anything. It's just that the whole gimick of looking around with the WiiPad looks frustration. It actualy looked like it will get in the way more than help. Can you imagine playing Left 4 Dead and having to hold up a controller in front of the TV, just to use an item, while being attacked by Zombies?

The touch screen on the WiiPad is going to be great for lots of stuff, I just don't see the point of moving a controler around in front of the TV to look at stuff you could already look at on the TV.

That is the whole point, which was demonstrated whilst lock picking. It ads an element of surpise. it becomes a survival horror not a fps.

Yeah, I know it's the whole point of the game. That is why I don't want to play it. I'll stick to Left 4 Dead thank you very much. Survival horror worked fine with RE back in the day so it's not like you need to hold up a second screen to get scared or surprised. I just hope my favorite Nintendo games like 3D Mario, Zelda, and Metroid don't get gimmicky. It was bad enough that they all had motion controls this gen, and I was hopeing that since the WiiPad has everything that a normal twin stick controller has we would finaly get the controls we missed on the Wii. I don't like motion controls, and I don't want to hold up a second screen to do what an joystick can already do. I want classic controls, forever, that's it.

Metroid was hands down better with motion controls. Zelda went a little to 1:1 and made it harder for people to learn. BUt once you fdid they were good.

K, again, if you don't see the value that doesn't make it a gimmick... Can you just say something more meaningful like:

"I just hope my favorite Nintendo games like 3D Mario, Zelda and Metroid don't use technology I prefer not use"?

Thanks

A disadvantage with pre-recorded panorama view is the camera that did the recording is on a fixed position in space. This means the recording on the upad can only be rotated from said position. This breaks the illusion a little for the person holding the Upad as the user would tend to move the controller slightly laterally sometimes(moving the pad horizontally/vertically without rotating)  and wont see a change in the image on the U-pad. edit:It's probably the reason why we haven't heard any WOW! news from the e3 booth.

But for something not prerecorded on a fixed point camera( something rendered in-game), I guess the developer can make image movements for lateral motion to if needed.  And maybe use the inwards camera for 'recalibration' purposes (to know if the person has the upad directly infront his face so sensors wont get confused after vigous play) or even aid in sensing lateral movement.

No, I mean what actual use will it have in a game? Like I said if you want to stop and gawk at something, like virtual boobs, it's great. But you can already look around 360 degrees just using an analogue stick. If I want to point my gun up and fire at a bad guy I don't need a second screen nor do I have to lift the controller in the air and scan around untill I find my target. I can do that now so why would I need the WiiPad to do that? Other than the gimick of looking at a virtual enviroments what is the practical use? I'm talking about a gameplay use.

If you have to ask what practical use would this bring it's like worth debating you. But the ability to have a scan view on the pad while keep the regular view on the TV like the Zoombie U demo is enough along.

The touch screen on the WiiPad is going to be great for lots of stuff, I just don't see the point of moving a controler around in front of the TV to look at stuff you could already look at on the TV.

It's a matter of different pacing. L4D is focused on the co-op shooting, Zombi U on the survival. Crossing the mechanics doesn't work, apples-to-apples

Similarly, this feature could be incredibly useful for a number of reasons.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I wonder if any of the Point & Click adventure game devs will be jumping on this. It could be cool to have something like a CSI game where you move around the room searching for clues. And you could do the same thing with a 3DS, Vita, Smartphone or Tablet so having multiple platforms could incentivise a dev to support it.

And maybe a Metroid game where you scan the environment looking for puzzles.

I can't think of any other real game use for this tech that wouldn't just be annoying after a few minutes. And even those uses would not really be something that would hold up over long periods I don't think.

I disagree. I prefer the controls of MP1 far more than MP3. In my opinion MP3 is a better game than MP2, but not because of it's controls. I liked Zelda SS a lot and did get used to the controls. But I never enjoyed, not once, swinging my golden Wii-Mote around or slicing in directions to attack enemy week spots. I very, VERY, much prefer the simple transparent controls of Zelda OoT. When I play a game with a standard controller the gamepad disappears in my hands and I become part of the game. When I play a game with motion controls I am constantly reminded that I have a motion controller in my hands every time I have to lift my hand from my lap.

Believe me I get that. Different games for different folks. I'm not one of those folks it seems.

Sorry if I offended anybody. However, these are games we are talking about. It's just another form of entertainment. It's not like I'm insulting anyone. There are things I like and things I don't like. It shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings if I don't like something that has nothing to do with them personaly. My opinion on a game or console has no effect on yours. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. I'm not trying to change your opinion, I'm just informing you and others what my opinion is.

I'll explain what I mean on your wall.

yes good idea,i hope they have some good adventure point and clicks,it would be good if you can use 3ds too so you can play poker and other board type games where you can have cards on your own screen like magic for example so you can play in the same rooms together,2/3/4/ player
