tell me about it, just what are sony's plans for the vita? right now you'de think even they hate the damn thing. anyway nice little drop in price on amazon but personally i wont pay any more than £150 for a handheld, unless it has something really special.

Ye I haven't actually seen any televised advertising since a week after release. Not good at all.

Those bundles don't hint at that at all. Sony often creates bundles at the same price as unbundled consoles to encourage sales. Bundles like that are a clear sign of a price drop not happening but still create incentive and extra value to purchase. I don't believe Vita is going to get a price drop this year, most likely just bundles like those or at most a temporary price cut at specific retailers during black Friday and Christmas. Last year PS3 had a 2 game bundle and a $50 price drop, it was a great deal. I can't say if Vita would get a similar treatment or not but I'd bet against a permanent price cut this year.

I'm still waiting for a redesign and accompanying price cut. I made the mistake of buying the psp at launch, and I'm not doing it again. The system can still be saved, of course. It is doing better than the PS3 was at this point.

Is this a permanent deal or is it temporary, if so how long does this deal last?
