Forums - Nintendo - There are “loads” of unannounced third-party Wii U games

Sounds like this is a good opportunity for some attempts to guess what games are coming, but unannounced.

I think they're going to be games with heavy online and games with a strong Japanese flavour that will have been kept under wraps. So here's my pick for five games that will be revealed...

1. Medal of Honor: Warfighter
2. Kingdom Hearts 3
3. Silent Hill 5
4. New Sonic title... I'm going with Sonic Adventure 3.
5. Game Party U

I hope these 3rd party games aren`t just games for the japanese launch. For example, a Black Ops 2 announcement is needed!

Not, it really isn't. COD is ruining gaming because everyone trying to copy leading to endless stream crappy shooters that try to look like a overdramatic war movies.

Second, we already know its coming to the system. They wouldn't miss a chance to make easy money like that. They even made comments about how it would benefit the game.

I'm more interested in the "new" things that can be done with the system, not done to death.

If people copy COD, it`s not COD`s problem. It`s those developers that copy it.
I just gave BO2 as an example, because it`s one of the most important titles that Wii U could have. Specially now that it would have HD graphics and it would be on par with other... at least.

If Wii U can sell 3rd party titles like COD in good numbers i think other developers will be encouraged to develop for Wii U and even make some effort to explore it`s capabilities.

BOII would be a nice thing to show off Nintendo's new Online structure. It could also take in more sales.

Not sure if it's needed though.

BO2 is known for it`s multiplayer - that people seem to play forever - and the fact that, according to some, it also attracts the more casual gamers.
So, having BO2, more than any other game, will only benefit Wii U in online play and sales!

A ton of the people who already play CoD will most likely own a PS3 or 360. So it won't help as much as say, Mario or Pikmin. As those games atre exclusive.

I see where you are coming from though.

No it won't. The reason devs don't flock to Nintendo is becasue Nintendo doens't wipe theirs arse's with money like Sony and Microsoft do. Nintendo made there dislike of buying exslusives known clearly. Sony and Microsoft dropped 10's if not 100's of million into getting third party titles on their systems.

People weren't avoiding the system beause of power. If that were true the PS2 and PS1 would have had the least amount of games in their generations. People were avoiding it because Nintendo wasn't providing the kickbacks, incentive and freebies that Sony did.

Devs are already making there whoredom to Microsoft and Sony known. EA did it with there "try games on Wii U then bring them to smart glass" statement, SquareEnix did it with there "the current gen has lasted to long" and Epic did it recently with there "We are working with Sony and Microsoft to make the next console a significant leap from the current ones" or something like that. They are writing off the Wii U before it even comes out because they are trying to appeal to Sony and Microsoft. They know those 2 companies will dump a lot of funding into dedicated devs who promote their hardware.

Nintendo only needs to worry about four things to keep third party support.

1.Making it where the games play best on their system.

2. Making sure the security isn't cracked so easily(this is really what killed the Wii's third party sales to be honest).

3. Finally, making sure that the consoles stays more significantly more affordable than the next console from Sony and Microsoft.

4. Keeping a large amount of good games coming out for the system. They honestly don't need to be multiplat so long as they are good and there are a lot of them.

Well, if you didn`t own a console and the next COD would interest you, wouldn`t a new console, with a new controller, be a good choice for the future instead of a console that`s been in the market for years and was due for replacement soon?

Like I said, most people who would be playing CoD/would want a new one would already own a 360 or PS3.

BOII doesn't have that much gravity. (Compared to exclusive titles.)

While it might be true that MS did offered some "benefits" i don`t think did as much if any of that. If i recall, Sony said they wouldn`t go that route.
Still, of Xbox 360 and PS3`s library, how many games came to be system seller exclusives because of that.

The reasons i would point to lack of Wii support, is the hardware would require significant time and changes to port games and companies bet on PS3 and Xbox 360 paid off.
But that could change this generation if costs do rise. And if they rise, they are going to rise a lot.
Of course, they will rise for Wii U aswell, but seeing as many developers already know how to make business and stay alive with PS3 and Xbox 360, my guess is that, overall, the situation won`t change susbtantialy for Wii U, making Wii U less risky to develop for.

The big questions are and will always be: is there a market there for 3rd pary games? Will 3rd parties even try?
The first one only time will tell. But on the second one, i thnk Wii U already has games for launch and launch window that shows that 3rd parties are already betting on Wii U.
In terms of game prices, even if they rise to 60$/€ it`s nothing new. And to be honest i think the next xbox and the next PS will make game prices higher than those of Wii U. A plus for Wii U!

I don`t have data to prove what i am saying, but if i am not wrong, a COD game always brings a spike in sales. So, either those gamers are exchanging consoles each other, are there is a market that consoless and Wii U can take advantage of it. Which is what i am betting Wii U will and can do.
