Forums - Sony - Report: Sony Says PS1 and PS2 Games Coming to PS3 “Soon” via Streaming Service

If I could play the PS2 games I already own I'd be more than happy, but I don't know whether Sony will go for that. I'd love to replay San Andreas.

Could they be planning on adding this for PSPlus members?.
Join PSPlus and play all the classic PS1 and 2 games for free, or pay a set fee for access to the service?
I think if they added something like this for plus members it would make them happy, and bring in alot of new subs.

That would be smart for sony to get more money. It would also be bad in publicity though. But I think Sony should get their money back so that they can bring ps4 out faster.I think this would be good so I can play games that I do not own but would like to play again, like chrono cross etc.

i expect "soon" means 2013.

We at gamefanatics don't like to bring up rumors, but here's one anyway

This is so obvious for me, it's a Games Com announcement along with that "leaked" new PS3 design. God knows what that actually is..

How would it be bad?. id imagine if they included this service with the price of plus, they would get great publicity for it.

When BC with all consoles is what it should have they now charge for it? Idk be slightly annoying to me if I did not have a BC ps3.

This article is weird in so many ways.

Id happily pay for PS+ if it gave me the entire libraries of PS/PS2.

I actully got 1 years subscription 6 months ago. Honestly i'd recommend it without the entire library availble. if only for the free games they've offerred since E3.

On topic:

My internet service provider is a POS. and streaming a game just wouldnt be good enough. as long as they make these games downloadable, i'm happy to pay for something worthwhile.

that being said, i'm still extemely disappointed the PS1 library hasnt been made available to the PS Vita. hopefully that changes with this.

and i'm also very upset that Europe has been left wanting for PS1 classics. so i hope that this service allows us to purchase all those games that are currently unavailiable. and i'm hoping its done fast. these things tend to take too long after announcement, or they end up disappearing into the ether.

If they want me to pay them again to replay games I already bought that I can't play on my PS3 because of their idiotic removal of backwards compatibility, they better have a super low price point and trophy support. Neither is likely, alas.
