Forums - Microsoft - Update: Halo 2 Anniversary not in Development "At This Time"

Anniversary edition is 10 years after, not 9 so it'd be 2014.

Clear now why the release matters?

Milk on MS, I love quality milk.

ohh got it, they dont have to call it anniversary then, but i really do think they will release a halo game in 2013 and i expect it to be a halo 2 remake, i dont think they would wait a hole year just so they can market it as an "anniversary" they can just market it and brand it as something else

i expected this to be honest, it seems microsoft want to make halo an annual thing (and milk the franchise to death as well)

oh yeah Halo 2 released at 2003 not 2004

i really dont know what halo 2's release date has to do with anything. halo ODST released 2009, reach 2010,halo CEA 2011 and halo 4 is coming in 2012, if they want to make an anual release next year its a logical step to release halo 2 anniversary in 2013. thats what im saying. are they milking the franchise? yes, there is no way you can tell me they are not.

yeah 9 year Anniversary,that's new

yeah 2 of them(ODST,CEA) are not main title is milking

but its completely fine for sony and nintendo to remake all their classics, right? I really don't understand this. A remake is just that, a remake. Its not like they are pumping out a full fledged halo every year. The main games have always had and will continue to have 2 year dev cycles if not longer. Which is about as long as most popular sony and nintendo ips.

dude , calm down ok?just chill, cool? i dont want to start an arguement here over sony, nintendo, MS, atari or sega or what ever. first of all they make remake these games and give them a huge market push, they dont just import them. second nintendo dont remake all their classics they just made a couple for the 3DS. third sony, nintendo, MS, EA, Activision, Konami, Campcom... ect  all milk there games get over it. is halo being milked? yes, but so is god of war i dont think to the extent of halo but its close. but can you deny the fact that halo has become an annual franchise? no. can you deny that they are milking halo? no. i didnt mention sony or nintendo or what they do with their games. you just assumed im here to attack halo. i just comented on what i think MS or gonna do with halo, simple as that

okay dude, my message was pretty calm in my head. On the other hand, yours sound quite aggressive in my head. So maybe you should calm down.. dude... or wait, maybe it is because it's a typed message that we interpret how we want, so we can stop talking about calming down. And Yes nintendo is milking their classics. They have remade old console games on their modern handhelds since the gameboy days. Some examples every single 2d mario platformer, a bunch of zelda games, metroid zero mission, star fox. I could go on.

It's perfectly fine for you to comment on what you think MS is gonna do, just like its perfectly fine for me to comment how every single other major developer also acts this way.

who cares

you should go to the "you know you're a spammer when..." thread. you are a perfect example for everyone there to teach them what a spammer is.

i honestly dont care much for nintendo now days to know just how much they milk their games, but its certain that they milk them more than anyone else (activision is getting close though!) and i didnt wanna sound like a douche sorry for that but just wanted to make sure i didnt start a flame war or what ever that s all lol.  and as i stated before, every god damn publisher and developer milk their franchises to death. maybe not valve though

Fans cry and moan when develpers milk their titles and cry and moan when they don't. There will always be something to complain about. I'll also appologize for my aggressive sounding messages.

Relly want to see this as it is my favorite Halo to date. The one that got me to love multiplayer. No shock they are bringing it. The thing is I cannot say if I will be hyped if it comes out a year after Halo 4. I overdose on Halo easily.

If the quality is good then milk away!

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well... Following my Halo CE Anniversary purchase, I might actually skip this one. Especially if there only is a campaign mode and no re-introduction of its multiplayer. Neither terminals nor visuals are enough to justify buying it thanks to youtube.

Why skip this one? Didn't you like Halo CE Anniversary?

And what do you mean by "thanks to Youtube"?

I think he means if they just use the maps in halo 4 MP like Halo CE remake did by using Reach for its online, and not have its own online modes. He will just skip it, and watch the single player online using youtube.

Okay, I understand then.

How was multiplayer in Halo CE Anniversary? Totally bastardized or fairly true to the original?

I'm still stuck on Truth & Reconcilliation on legendary. Maybe I'll find time to finish that first.
