| Barozi said: yeah the accuracy of your guys at the beginning is horrible. It gets a lot better later on, but then you have these floaters which reduce your hit chance, because well they're floating in the air. Okay makes even some kind of sense. Then even later you fight these big Mutons. When they're in cover I only have like 35% hit chance even though I have a much higher hit chance for other alien creatures at the same distance. Why can't I reduce the hit chance for the enemy ? It just feels like the CPU always finds more tricks to easily keep up with you, no matter how strong you've become. Now don't get me wrong. Until the middle of day 3 I really really liked the game and I think it was worth the purchase, because I already spent 15 hours or so with the game. But I'm not sure if I will ever finish it now. |
Elevation and flanking both help. You get a bonus to hit chance if you are higher than the enemy, and also if you are beside or behind them, you can also use S.C.O.P.E. and also Heavies with Holo targeting, get them to fire first and it will give everyone else a bonus to hit. Also diferent types of cover has different defense bonuses. Mutons also have supression which lowers your chance to hit and I belive Blood Call boosts defence so watch out for that of course, they also like to hunker down.
To lower the enemy hit chance, you can use supression, use full cover, and high ground. There are also perks like Assault's Tactical Sense, Damn Good Ground and Low Profile for Snipers, Support has Smoke Grenade, there is also the Psi power Telekinetic Field to boost defence and Mind Fray lowers hit chance. Also Achangel armor in flight
