Forums - PC Discussion - Building the most powerful and smallest possible gaming PC

So I think I decided what I am going to do.

Will pick up a mini-itx board such as this - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157273

Will wait for the Trinity A10-5800K apu to come out in a few weeks.

Will buy a low profile 6670 GPU and pair it up with the APU for solid gaming performance.

Will stick it all in a case such as this - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129080

While very nice looking, it's way too big, and not really that powerful of a build all things considered.

That alienware mini PC they built is pretty slick. You can even swap out the GPU, maybe the CPU too. On a side note, I was thinking of making a small PC as well, but I decided to build a decent beast of a machine to replace my consoles for the next 3 years.

I just have two words for you.

Raspberry Pie

Haha...if only it could run Windows, and look esthetically pleasing.

lol, yeah I was kidding. But it's  a very cool piece of tech. I'm going to get one and build a tiny linux box, just to see how small I can make a working computer.

Those Dell machines are overpriced for anyone that can build their own systems. I've built quite a few powerful PCs but honestly, doing research I was shocked to find out how these AMD APU's perform when paired with a 6670 Radeon in crossfire.

Take a look at this vid showing some of the numbers for current games.

Not to shabby for a GPU + CPU that cost 200 bucks combined or less. Also this is last years A8 3850... This years A10 5800K should be 30% better according to early benchmarks.

Of course it's overpriced, it's just, no one has a form factor as their x51.  The thing's only a little bigger than the PS3/360 and it has a pretty powerfull machine behind it.

Nice and small build!

Although they have no stock of it, have you considered the Asus F1A75-I DELUXE?

Since it has build in WIFI, you'd have less cables lying around.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Yeah I am consideing it cause of WiFi and Bluetooth built. It's really hard to find though.

I just may wait for the FM2 socket baords for the upcoming APUs to see what they bring to the table. Other than maybe 2166 RAM support or similar little things, I don't expect them to offer greater than the Asus one above.

When will the new boards launch?

If you're not in a hurry it may be worth the waiting, if only to see the older boards to become cheaper.
