Didn't someone once speculate that the "nextbox" was gonna be called "infinity"? aka "8" on its side?

Actually the next console could be called Xbox Live (as in living). Sony could re-brand the console. Call it Sony Revolution. And Nintendo will name their system something dumb...like Wii U...
