Blame Montana. He gave me the link to the Wayback machine site a long time ago and that is what it gave me. Unti I fix it, just imagine threads with 20-40 posts with a few biggish ones.  There may have been more members on at the time, but if 75 percent of them were lurkers it did not matter.

Are those blue notifications your's or mine....?

This thread is so confusing. xD

Not sure how this really proves anything. Also the "new user vs. old user" insecurity thing is really annoying. I could equally make the case that older users posting more saved the forum, or that my coming back to the site saved the forum. Or any number of ridiculous reasons. Hell, most of the threads you just showed from the current forums were started by older members.

It's great that the forums are doing well, but the fact that you went through all of this effort to make a couple of loose conclusions is fairly petty.

I don't see what is wrong with Ryan's Thread. It's not like he's bashing anyone or anything. All he's really doing is kind of stating the obvious, forums are doing pretty good.

"Just for some over kill, incase some users may deny what I have posted and say that I have fixed the results, here is an embed of the Nintendo News forum. Whatever route that you all went in the past is what killed the popularity of this site. Us newer users are the ones who fixed it whether you like it or not. How else can you explain the site being busier even though chart functions are gone, and being in a sales vacuum with nothing really new happening at the moment?

So is this finally enough proof for some of you naysayers who say that boo hoo this and boo hoo that. Vgcharts has gone down hill because of this and that. The blame is on the past, newer users just saved it."

That's not really all. If it had just been data indicating that the forums were doing better than they were a year ago, I would be fine with it. But statements like the one quoted above show a fairly clear, vindictive agenda.

Oh never mind. xD I don't know how I skipped out on that part.

That is kind of bashing, Ryan. And newer members haven't fixed everything. We try our best (or some of us) to keep this place  going but you can't say that older members didn't do many good things for this sight. (Although some of them as they returned did complain about a lot of things. >_>)

Yes Montana....? I did make the thread to show that I was not totally wrong. What is wrong with that? I am not here to cause problems. I would like people to see what I am talking about. That is all.

You are not the only person who has disagreed with me on this. There was a xxain thread while you were gone and a ioi thread while you were gone that were big deals. No one wanted to concede anything.

I am totally fine with you stating that the forums are more popular than they were a year ago. I am even fine with you saying that newer members have contributed to this trend. But lashing out at older members, or trying to create some kind of artificial rift, is really not helpful. And since you've been here for over three years now, you would technically be one of the "older" members who caused the drop in traffic in the first place.
