Wait, Spelunky? Or Spelunker? , are they the same games?

at the time you searched for that on youtube to post it here you could have watched a spelunky video to see if it is the same^^

I did, and they're the same, not saying its a bad thing, I loved the original (the old one) and didn't get a chance to play the HD remake so this is welcome.

they are not the same

€dit:

there was a spelunker in 1983, then there came a spelunky in 2009 or so and it was pretty brilliant as how i understood, then in 2010, another company thought "oh see that spelunky is pretty successful let's make a hd remake of the 1983 game spelunker" and this now for xbox live is a new version of the 2009 spelunky.

spelunker hd has a meta score of 56^^ and spelunky will end maybe at 85+

if so, I have it already.

Best way to think of Splunky is think of Spelunker meets Diablo.  The idea of going into underground world, as a platformer, and the game procedurally generates the level in Splunky.

They look similar, but Spelunky is a much better game. Hence the 91 meta for Spelunky vs 56 for Spelunker.

It might be free, but the xbla version is superior in every which way.

I read the review then decided to try the pc version. When I went to install it I found out the directory already exists. Apparently I already tried it 2 years ago. Did not leave an impression.
I'll give the demo a try anyway, maybe it will be better on a big screen with a controller.

lol reminds me of a funny story. once i bought tony hawk for my dreamcast, played it some days and when i looked at all my dreamcast games to pick tony hawk for a session i found it still locked and i was like "what the..." and realized that i already bought it some weeks earlier and put it to my other games without playing it at that time because of lack of time. so yeah, i bought it two times...

I think that was clarified when he said, "it might be free, but..."

OT: The game looks interesting. I'll atleast try the demo.
