I'd put MW2 under the title of "bad games with great graphics." The rest are either decent-to-good in quality, or have mediocre graphics as well as mediocre gameplay.

Gears 1 - Just not appealing
Killzone 3 - single players was awful, online is great
Crysis 2- Very average in my opinion.
Lost Planet 2- Selnor said it looked amazing, turned out not looking so great and played even worse.
GTAIV- Messed around for maybe 20 hours. Never touched it again.

I'd say the gameplay is excellent in most COD games. At 60fps its very fluid and responsive. It also pioneered a lot of new things, including stabbing with the analogue stick (I think?) and the implementation of killstreaks etc.

There has since been a lot of copy cats, for a reason.

COD4 was was great, and looked great. (For it's time)

The ones since then have fallen shot of greatness by lacking the innovation COD4 had, but were still largely decent. (I hate the multiplayer though)

World at War looked and played solidly.

Modern Warfare 2 looked excellent but had serious balance issues, a nonsensical plot, and overused devices like the "death of your character from your POV." It's overall pretty bad.

Black Ops had a strong story but it's graphics were starting to show their age.

Modern Warfare 3 is good mindless fun, but again, isn't anything really special graphically.

Heavy Rain

I can only think of Crysis 2. Not that it was horrible either.

Max Payne 3

Mass Effect 3 was a huge let down in its second half and finished off with a disappointing generic ending leaving more questions than answers.
Final Fantasy XIII: too many cut scenes, linear RPG capped off with auto battle system, press X the entire game to win.
MGS4: great game but the cut scenes did go on too much for my liking.
Gears 1,2,3: campaigns were too short but the graphics were amazing.
Killzone 2: great graphics but heavy controls made this a let down in comparison to CoD style shooters.
Assassin's Creed 1 & 2: great graphics but both were way too repetitive in regards to game play.

Hold on there! You're posting the box-art of the one good CoD game (okay CoD 2 was good too). This is the only only one I still play on occasion and also ranks in my favorite games of all times list. I loathe the one after CoD 3 though.

Pretty much any game with excellent graphics this gen.
