I'm going to guess 7.5-8mil lifetime. Yes games usually sell better the second half of the year, but skyrim came out relatively late in the holidays. It had ridiculous sales January and Februrary and died down a lot since then. I don't think it will match those sales over the holidays coming up. And after this year I predict all software sales will have a ridiculous drop, at least on current gen consoles, considering how big the drop was this year.

I think 8.5 is a reasonable estimate

even that is a great goal to hit. Good for Skyrim. I remember people questioning RPG's and skyrim has shown RPG are alive and well. Atleast western style.
