How do you like the new title?

Around the Network

You've put Forza 3 having 4 million sales on PS3.

Interesting list!

I change it to "the highest selling installments from the 20 biggest PS3/360 franchises*"

*Annual sports franchises excluded because fuck 'em.  That's why.

Your title seems to fit the bill, though.

My motivation for this thread was last year's Battlefield 3 & Skyrim. I was so surprised at how much they were selling & how they were passing up the big boys like Assassin's Creed II. Those two games really came out of nowhere with their previous installments hovering in the 2-3mill range per platform.

I think Skyrim could potentially catch GTA IV. It's almost certain the X360 version will.

If games like Battlefield & The Elder Scrolls could grow so much, do you think GTA5 could also see a huge jump? seeing as GTAIV released way back in early 2008. It is kind of dated now, tbh. Also keep in mind that other games saw big jumps over their predescesors (how the hell do you spell that?) last year like Uncharted, Gears, Batman, ect.

I think GTAV's going to be really big

seems like we're in some super boring days for video game sales

What? I don't think so. Do you think it'll sell 10m+?

GTAV will see a huge jump over IV for obvious reasons.

Yes actually. It's at six million in less than a year! By the end of the year, it'll be at 7-8mill easy. I'm fairly sure it's tracking above GTA4 (too bad we can't check). By the end of 2013, it'll be at 8-9.5m. And it'll leg it's way to catch GTA IV.

Okay, maybe it's not certain that it'll catch GTA4, but it is realistic. Though I do think it's certain that it'll sell 10m. This game will have lots of legs. (like it's having right now).

Surprised how well multiplatform games have sold on the PS3, and that gap between both versions of FFXIII is huge. Where people got the idea that multiplatform games don't sell as well on PS3 I'll never know.

I don't think people have that idea. However, multiplat games still tend to perform better on the 360.

Probably because 360 is more popular in the west and western consumers tend to buy more games. North America inparticular has the highest attach rates.

The list shows a very small difference in sales with only a slight advantage to the 360, probably down to the 360's few million extra units sold. I had been convinced there was a huge gap in most multiplatform games.

You're right though, we do tend to buy a lot more games.

Very much so. Really clears any questions that some may have about the thread.

Oh please. Threads like these are super interesting compared to the start of the generation.
