Getting better.
We still need to completely eliminate all causes of death though.

A lot of heart disease in 1900. Considering they didn't even have McDonalds or 64oz sodas.

Including old age?
Would you want to live forever?

Why in the world would you want to live forever...?!...
OK, lets not turn this into a THE1 thread. XD

Well I'll explain it as short as I can then.
The only (likely) options as I see it are 'living forever' vs 'going back to having never lived'.

OK, if you've made up your mind, here's what you'll need:
1. An irrational particle accelerator
2. A liquid lunch
3. A pair of rubber bands
When you get tired of existing and decide to insult everybody everywhen, please keep mine civil.

Err what? The only thing a microwave does is to heat up the water molecules, there is no chance of residual radiation or anything like that. Any problems are not with the method of cooking but the crap they put into microwave meals, but the same goes for a lot of ready meals whether they are cooked in a microwave or in an oven (it's just that microwaves cook faster so most ready meals can be done in a microwave) I guess there could be an additional problem in that a lot of microwaves are not very well optimised and tend to spot heat, which means while parts of a product get cooked other parts don't (that's why they spin the food but sometimes it still occurs) but first of all that's easily solved by making sure what you are about to eat is cooked through like you do with other cooking methods, and second of all I think would at worst cause minor food poisoning or stomach ache, and wouldn't lead to long term health problems. Having said that I personally just use the microwave to defrost bread, or occasionally heat up leftovers... mainly because most of the ready meal stuff looks like crap and usually tastes of either sugar or salt with added cardboard/plastic. |
Not once I said there is radiation, but its “irradiated” food It’s the same thing (just a different wavelength of radiation) and also what I said was that we don't know the long term effects of eating microwaved foods. In fact, microwaves were originally called "radar ranges"
The process in which microwave heats up food causes the vitamins and nutrients to be destroyed. All the important B vitamins, anthocyanins, flavoring and other nutritional elements are easily destroyed by microwave ovens. In other words when people keep eating microwave food on a daily basis its like they're worsening their nutritional state which could lead to obesity and health problems. But like I said, we don't fully know the long term effects.

This entire planet is irradiated. And the process of cooking in general destroys a lot of nutrients and vitamins.
Looking into it though I guess there are some reasonable arguments against it... perhaps the speed at which microwaves can cook at destroys more nutrients than slower cooking, and it seems what I mentioned earlier about ready meals tasting of plastic is a possible danger ie some chemicals in the plastic are transferred to the food (though that's still under the "crap they put into" category for me, in that any danger would be averted if people took the meal out of the plastic container and cooked it in a glass or pot container)

Is it me or does it seem like it is quite hard NOT to get Cancer these days. Its like every person knows someone who is affected by cancer. Process foods, lifestyle??
