I remember when I played infamous, it looked crazy amazing to me. But it was my first ps3 game and even my first HD game, so I'm not sure if that affected my perception of the game; it still might have looked awesome to any person playing it at the time. I think the game would look a lot better if you had played it when it came out and not right now.

OT: I can't think of any good ones, but one that does come to mind is Assassin's Creed 1. It didn't have bad graphics per se, just alright. The trailers made it seem like something so much more from what I remember.

thats not really fair, how were you expecting them to look?? I think that is simply the best the Wii could do with those types of games

Indeed, Dragon age looks graphically really dull and modest but it was enjoyable experience.

Yakuza 3 gameplay segments have too many jaggies. But the cut scenes are awesome.

It gets better later on or maybe you just get used to it. I started with a mage and remember thinking the tower with all the bookcases looked really bad. The deep roads looked great to me but overall it was pretty dull. At least the resolution and the framerate were good.

There are a ton of games that lack graphical polish but offer very good gameplay

Best example Zelda Skyward Sword which got 10/10 from IGN and you can see the high meta-critic review rating. But while the game has some truely gorgeous art and even graphics are nice many times... the environments are sometimes just eye-sore terrible. Those crawl spaces are uglier than the worst looking game on N64.

Anyway

On the flip side, there are tons of games that focus entirely on graphics that are complete crap to play. Those Conduit games on the Wii and on the HD side you had games like Lair. There are a ton of such examples.

Sakura Wars: So Long My Love - Loved the gameplay, graphics - poor for even PS2 standards.

I'm sure there's others on Wii but nothing I can think of atm.

I would have to say MAG, but they HAD to make cutbacks for the 256 player capacity, but other than that, nothing.

Certain Wii games that didn't receive the "have excellent art design and screw realism because it would look like puke" memo.
Some games like Oblivion, Gears of War, and Killzone 2 didn't do much for me graphically despite the praise showered upon them. However, their sequels look very good. To me, Oblivion/Skyrim, GOW/GOW2, and Killzone 2/3 are like night and day.
