Forums - Gaming - What price would the Wii U need to launch at for you to buy it on day 1?

Yeah, $200 given the expected launch lineup. That would also suggest a long wait until the next price cut...

$99 bundled with a good Mario game (for the sake of comparison, I'd pay $299 for the PS4 or Xbox 720)

That's ridiculous.  There's no way it would be $99, and the PS4/720 would not be $299 unless they want to have the same specs as the Wii U.  I think the Wii U will be around $250-400.   If I had the money, I would pay at most $300 to buy it day 1.  However, I don't have much money to spare for a home console, so I probably wont be able to buy it day one regardless of its price.

EDIT: When I say same, I mean similar.

250 USD but after they get games, I would pay 300. Will be 300 at launch anyways...

This answer makes me think you don't know what a Wii U is.  That, or you're trolling.

250 dollars without games, 300 with Pikmin 3

But I usually play with my 2 rules before buying the console
1. Decent price (200-300)
2. 3 games I want to play

The second one will be lacking with the Wii U on launch day

Hmmm... What's the price of four Gamecubes & a roll of duct tape?

Not a penny more than $299.99....before taxes.

Nintendo still doomed?

It ain't the price, it's the games. With only Pikmin 3 currently on my "do want list", that's not enough for me to buy the Wii U at launch.

Going to wait awhile (probably at least a year) to see what other games are coming down the pipeline, and to see how well the hardware and infrastructure, especially the online, stand up to the Next Box and PS4 before blowing more than $300 on another console.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
