Why is this in Microsoft Discussion?

Anyways, don't really care... :p

Because it was from a Microsoft website. Any other questions from Down Under?

If it was by most other members I would consider it flaming actually.

OT: The story is already complex and rediculous, so coming up with me of a story seems believable under the series current form. A good series I want it!

Considering the game is made with an engine that "will make it possible for Kojima Productions to develop multiplatform games with a significantly shortened development time and has been described as the first step for the developer to move away from development for a single platform" it's clearly going to be multiplatform. Theres plenty of threads about multiplatform games in both sony and microsoft forums so whats the problem with posting it on this discussion?

I wonder if this will be a launch game for next gen consoles.

The question of it being multiplat is not a concern to me as most games are that is why I judge systems mostly by first party. He had it in the MS section which was clearly not the place for multiplatform series.

It seems like it could be a launch game, but considering this was almost an accidental reveal and not official I would hardly know. I would predict even if it is next gen it will still be on PS3, and  possibly 360.

I don't understand, I thought that at the end of MGS4, snake was basically an old and decrepit man who could barely move, and ended up dying (didn't it show his grave or something?).

How are they going to make another sequel if he's still alive yet in that condition? I suppose they'll make a reboot or some sort of prequel...

The same way they solved every problem in MGS4--Nanomachines.  No explanation necessary.  Just say, "Snake, thank goodness the nanomachines made you young again..." followed by an awkward pause, the mandatory Otacon crying scene, and then on with the story.

Poor Kojima keeps trying to move on to do something different, but Konami won't let him leave this franchise. Personally I only liked MGS1 and 2. I got bore of both 3 & 4 within a couple hours of starting them. But I know many people love this franchise so they will be happy.

I totally lost interest in this series since MGS3. MGS 1 had something special, 2 tried to mimick that and ended with a cliffhanger... and then i couldnt get used to the jungle envyronments and paint swaps on 3. I didnt buy a PS3 so 4 was a no go for me.

I recently got a PSP but im not sure peacewalker will convince me. All PSP shooters seem to try and use the face buttons to aim, wich a terrible idea. Resident evil revelations for the 3DS does it so simply with just one shoulder button to move and another to aim. I dont understand why developers on the PSP refused to figure this out.

Siphon filter is another series i used to love but the PSP installments make me want to smash things due to how terrible the controls are. Killed that series off to me too.

With that said, im always willing to give kojima-san a chance to repeat the goodness that were the first 2 MGS. Convince me thats what im getting and get a "story so far" featurette in there and we will talk.

I've only ever played and finished MGS4 in the series and I think it's awful. The story's absolutely terrible as it's incredibly convoluted, poorly-paced and forgettable. The characters are poorly written and lame, the graphics are ugly, the music was ill-fitting and the gameplay bored me to sleep murmurous times.

It's easily one of the most overrated games of all time, I'd bet it only received praise from critics because it's Japanese or because the for some reason beloved Kojima directed it, if it were a western game it would've been ripped apart by critics for being the rubbish it truly is. It's funny that Kojima made his name with the Metal Gear Solid franchise but the best game he's ever been involved with is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which is a brilliant game. I couldn't care less for MGS5, I'm just curious to see the ratio of gameplay to cut-scene this time, it'll probably be even worse lol.

Graphics are ugly? When they came out they were the best ever seen on a console. The story doesn't make sense as you didn't play 1-3.

Next Gen game for sure so it being on the next xbox is highly likely.
