There it goes the most popular game for the Vita (that we know), now what's next?... I wanna know when the Vita gonna reach those sales again....

It'll do good again when Hatsune Miku arrives in august 30th. Maybe even better - there's a special edition bundle.

Or soon, with the white vita on June 28th.

If an obscure game like persona 4 can cause the vita to double in sales, cant wait until an actual system seller graces the system. But even this is not going to be enough for the haters.

I thought that in Japan, the Persona series was pretty big?

It's not as big as Dragon Quest of Monster Hunter, but it's bigger than the Tales...Series, and you'd expect a new game in the series to sell around 200-300k FW, if not more.

What what what?!?

There's no way the Persona series is bigger than the Tales series...

Persona isn't that big in Japan.

Sales suggest otherwise. Looking at LT sales for the main 4 Persona games in Japan, they have an average of around 350k, not including remakes.

Tales of games LT sales are around 350k also, but there's much more up-and-down than Persona, and the real heavy-hitters came back in the PS days, with only Xilla breaking this trend.

I'd say if a brand new Tales games, and a brand new Persona game were to be released on the 3DS/Vita, both would acheive very similar sales numbers. So calling Persona 'obscure' is well off the mark. Certainly a remake of a Persona game is bigger than a remake of a Tales game, even if the main series isn't as popular overall (though it is gaining traction).

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Anyway, the Vita is alive! (for at least one week, it'll probably free fall next week: http://youtu.be/1lWJXDG2i0A )

DQM: Terry holding up well now that stores are getting more stock of the game. I wonder how it'll hold up next week with BW2 entering the chart.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Great Vita numbers, but let's hope they will sustain now. I don't know what's the next big Vita release besides from Hatsune Miku, but that comes out in August. The White Vita will be available at the end of the month along with Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, so I expect a moderate bump.

On the 3DS numbers, I'm glad it sustained at 60k despite there being no new releases. Every major 3DS is still on the charts, except Kid Icarus. I'm sad. Anyway, next week is Black 2/White 2, so both 3DS and DS are going to get an increase. Not sure how much of an increase, but it will.

Also, here's a weird history lesson: Excluding launch...
16 June 2011: The release date of Ocarina of Time 3D, the first 3DS game to be on the throne for Media Create.
14 June 2012: The release date of Persona 4 The Golden, the first Vita game to be on the throne for Media Create.

I think that, had Nintendo releasd B&W2 a week earlier, things would be very different. As such, I'd imagine a huge increase for 3DS, and a decrease for the Vita, a heavy one (25k? Less?)

I was looking at MC numbers and Layton was not number 1.

But it was third for four straight weeks, almost impossible for a third party game

To me Vita will drop to 20-22k.

Persona will have legs. It's the must buy game. It'll reach 250k easily, imo.

Woah! Awesome week for Vita and great debut for Persona 4 The Golden!
