Forums - Sony - Ôkami Magnificent Edition possibly coming to PS3

We're hearing some reports about a PlayStation 3 version of Capcom's PlayStation 2 classic Okami. Titled Okami Zekkie-ban (maybe... Okami Magnificent Version), the game appears to be an HD remaster.

We're not totally sure of the source on this one, but we'll hopefully have confirmation or debunkment in a bit!

Update: Game Jouhou says that its source for this report was a bit unclear, so it's probably best to treat this as a rumor. Any major remaster would usually be announced first in Famitsu, so if we don't hear anything tomorrow or next Wednesday it's probably false.

Developed by the now defunct Clover Studio, Okami was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2006 and was acclaimed for its unique art style. A Wii remake followed in 2009, with a DS spinoff/sequel in 2010.

Oh teasing, I have all 3 versions as well as the artbook.

Do not allow yourself to be blinded by fear and anger. Everything is only as it is.

Okami was highly praised form the critics, but It wasn't successful neither on PS2, nor on Wii. I don't think we need another version of the game.
I played the PS2 version, when it came out, and in my opinion It's an overrated game, maybe with motion control is better.

Give me a vita-version or i won't buy it.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

What you mean by success? Not every game has to sell CoD like numbers. Team ICO games still produce original games eventough they don't sell millions. Its a critically acclaimed game and ranked one of the highest of last gen.

Ôkami was one of the best PS2 games last gen, I hope they release a retail HD remaster of it. Will buy it again. 50 hours of awesomenes, and its not even an rpg.

Never played it another good game that came late in the ps2 cycle but I heard nothing but good things about this game so I wouldn't made a HD remake

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

Yeah, every game doesn't have to sell like COD  to be called a success, but Okami sold poor, you can't deny that. It was hyped by videogame's media, but it didn't do any good, at the end.

When it sold bad on PS2 everyone said that it was because of the PS3 launch. Then, it sold poor on Wii and there was no excuse.

Obviously Okami is a charming title, and even though I didn't like it, it doesn't mean it was a bad game,, but if we can argue about quality, we can't discuss about sales.

This game would be fantastic on the Vita too. Either way my body is ready.

I hope. I would like to experience this game.

How much did the Wii version sell?

Hyped? Is every good hyped game that doesnt sell considered a flop? Killzone 2 was also hyped to death but didnt sell great numbers, yet its generally accepted as a great game, with a nice 92 on metacritic. I dont remember there being any hype at all for Ôkami. It became a cult hit like Demon's Souls, a small fanbase that was very fond of the game.
