I haven't played many FPSs at all, but I still think Halo is the worst I've played. I've tried to get into it before and I promised myself I'd try to get into it again. I played the Halo: Reach demo very recently and I just couldn't stand it.

Is it a sandbox game?

Mechanics don't mean crap if your game is crap imo. Same with graphics.

I am sure there are other more terrible FPS, but I have been successful at avoiding them.

I played Eat Lead and it's a third person shooter as far as I remember.

They could easily say Haze or Wolfenstein 3D but Halo? common.

That one had slipped my mind. Quite a while ago I played it and it didn't seem bad at the time but is not a the level of others I've played. Think it suffers from being on the DS, which is really built for FPS games.

I disagree that it's one of the best shooter out there (I find it fairly average and I don't think it really counts as sandbox?), but it's definitly not a bad FPS. It has good gameplay mechanics, some interesting weaponry and fantastic multiplayer.
