Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 broke today

Buy new xbox 360

Get a new one 62 33.16%

pile up games on my PS3 87 46.52%

wait for the Wii U 20 10.70%

Not my problem buddy 18 9.63%

Total:187

For me, the actual console price is tiny compared to the money I've spent on games and accessories. So I wouldn't think twice, but that's me.

Even if it's out of warranty still try to get it fixed. Sometimes they will fix it anyway. I got my buddies repaired that was out of warranty by talking about all the games he's gotten and his loyal Live membership.

What actually happened to it? like whats it doing? Is it just not turning on at all??

It turns on but it doesn't read discs at all. I have tried everythin from opening it up and messing with the insides its just dead and im not going to buy a new disc drive as that requires to much stuff to be done to it.

Sucks about your 360 :/

If I were you I'd hold out until a price cut or the somewhat likely special edition Halo 4 console.

Thanks everybody for your inputs i will probably wait for a Halo 4 special edition console. Guess i have my PS3 to tide me over Right? Right?Riiiiggghhhtttt? lol.

Wait for the Wii U

If you want to play Xbox 360 exclusives, PS3 ain't gonna do the job. And vice versa of course.

My old fat Xbox 360 had the same problem. It wasn't reading certain disc and then it finally stopped reading all disc, but it just had to stop on the launch day for Gears 3 lol. So the next day I traded in my old one at Gamestop and bought a slim 4GB, and got a 250GB hard drive separately on Amazon. Much cheaper if you do it that way, I spent less than $200 for the console and hard drive with trade in money.

As long as you have one by November 6th, you'll be fine

what is the possible cause for it to break? I'm curious because I'm wondering if it is mainly due to heating, and ventilation issues.
