First of all, this is the king of PR. He would say no price drop, even if they were gonna do one tomorrow.

Second thing. I expect the mid Q2 2008 timeframe.

Third. I doubt they could move the PS3 for 100$ very well. Why? It has like 2 games really worht buying. At least the Wii has around 5 high profile games.

The PS3 has no games. No games... usually mean no sales.

The Xbox had only a few games by it's first price drop that were good, however, the price drop raised sales considerably. However, IMO, a $100 price drop to $500 won't really do it as good as a few high-budget games will.

a price drop from 300-200$ and a price drop between 600-500$ cannot be compared like that.  500 is still a huge amount of money, and is only a reduction of 1/6 of the price, while the original xbox cuts its price by 1/3.  The xbox had the appeal that you were getting a more powerful system for the same price as an inferior system (PS2).  The PS3 doesn't have that appeal even if it drops 100$ (microsoft will probably follow suit too), and hasn't even proven to everyone that it is more powerful than 360 yet.
