So, Lockwood Publishing a company mainly known for making a multitude of trinkets you can buy in PSHome have decided to step up and make an actual game. And boy have they gone big. It's a free to play RPG/Dungeon crawler in the guise of Demon Souls and the likes.

There is a demo that can be unlocked from the E3 space inside Home. Although it's a little clunky, I think the game has a lot of potential

But more importantly, it's FREE!!!! Queue the hate in

Hate incoming: This game looks TERRIBLE! The combat is imprecise and clunky, you don't even feel the sword connects with anything. The animation is last generation. The environments and monsters are unimaginative. And if you can't make someone walk through water in a realistic way, then don't do it. She looks like she just clips through it. Just all round horrible. Not even worth my free dollars. End of hate.

I don't think it's meant to be water. I think what you fail to relaise is all of this being done inside PSHome so that should at least be taken into consideration before dismissing it. I have no idea why people always expect "AAA" games from PSHome...IT'S HOME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! From user reviews on youtube, there's suggestions that it plays a lot better than it looks.

Again it's a freebie, you don't lose anything by playing it. people are quite happy to shell out £40 for far worse games, but the moment you mention FREE and Home, it's ZOMG, THIS SUCKS!!

How can you tell how the environments and monsters will look like just from one small section? Not saying it's gonna be the end all but I doubt you should expect their A material froim a 10minute demo.

Can I play it wearing my Kazuma Kiryu leisure suit and Servbot mask?

By the looks of things, I don't think so. I think that would have been cool though.

Yes, I failed to realize I am playing this in Home. And no, I am not allergic to Home either. I barely use it, but I think it serves other gamers' needs out there. Just not mine. But still, you can't deny that it looks so cheap. And even though it is a freebie, I DO lose something by playing it, TIME. I only have so much gaming time, so I invest it in the best of games I can get a hold of. AAA or unique titles get my attention. I will never buy HD remakes of old games and never play PS1 games, cause its a waste of my time. Same goes with this. It just looks so uninspired, and hey, good for the developer taking their first crack at a game, but maaaaaaaaaaaaan it looks like shit. Also, when a developer releases a 10 minute demo, you should absolutely expect their A material in it, otherwise the demo fails at its purpose of being a marketing tool.

By all means, enjoy your time playing it when it comes out, not everyone has the highest standards and some people don't mind playing a shite game.

My main complaint is that people don't seem to put budget and the confinds of limitations placed on a game by its platform. Yes its on the ps3, yes there are hundreds of games better than it but with that said, this is something being created on Home but at the same time, attempts and exceeds things far beyond its confinds and dare I say, some retail games out there.

So far, from everyone who's played it, I've yet to hear anything negative about the game.

There is such a thing as having too high a set of standards, because of this people tend to over look some hidden gems out there.

Note: I'm not saying this will be the best game ever, far from it, I'm saying beyond the obvious negatives, given a chance, this game could prove to be something interesting.

I would happily conceed that because it's a game made on Home, my expectations aren't as high as a result I'm happy to overlook a lot of the negatives, but that doesn't mean I should overlook the positives as well. No denying there's a chance I'll play it and absolutely hate it but at the same time, that can easily be said of any "higher standard games", you play the game and it turns out to be a waste of your time.

I don't see why this game should be any different, you could play it and it could very well surprise you.

For example, I went into SodiumOne: Salt Shooter in PSHome not expecting anything, but after playing it, it's now one of my favourite games OF ALL TIME. Now, I argue I would never have figured this out if I hadn't given it a chance, simply because it's on PSHome. Simply dismissing games because of what format they are on or how they "look" only hurts you on the long run because you end up losing on something you might truly love.

I will agree with you and say that it is pushing the limits for a home game. And people can lose out on gems if they don't look hard enough. But I would have to sift through so much shit to find a gem. Haha y'know?! I think it comes down to your playstyle and mine. You might have more time to play games, you might be more accepting of games and have more lenient standards, you might be on a hunt for that hidden gem. I just think in this day and age, hidden gems do not remain hidden for too long, and get exposed in the public, like games such as Amnesia which would have blatantly gone under the radar had it not been for the intrawebz. I bought it, played it, loved it. But I go into it informed. That is how I usually make my gaming decisions. I admit that I am probably less experimental than you and will not try out a game just to see if its good and can hence lose out on some solid gaming experiences out there. But there is so much to choose from in this market that the limited time I have to play will still be jam-packed with top notch experiences so I don't feel like I am losing out on anything.

I'll raise a glass to you enjoying this game when it comes out though. Hurrah!

Should be enticing people to use Home as opposed to make them run away screaming.

Also i imagine one of the better vulgar arguments against 'It's free' is an individual offering you their shit. Hey it's free right.
