So far, from everyone who's played it, I've yet to hear anything negative about the game. There is such a thing as having too high a set of standards, because of this people tend to over look some hidden gems out there. Note: I'm not saying this will be the best game ever, far from it, I'm saying beyond the obvious negatives, given a chance, this game could prove to be something interesting. I would happily conceed that because it's a game made on Home, my expectations aren't as high as a result I'm happy to overlook a lot of the negatives, but that doesn't mean I should overlook the positives as well. No denying there's a chance I'll play it and absolutely hate it but at the same time, that can easily be said of any "higher standard games", you play the game and it turns out to be a waste of your time. I don't see why this game should be any different, you could play it and it could very well surprise you. For example, I went into SodiumOne: Salt Shooter in PSHome not expecting anything, but after playing it, it's now one of my favourite games OF ALL TIME. Now, I argue I would never have figured this out if I hadn't given it a chance, simply because it's on PSHome. Simply dismissing games because of what format they are on or how they "look" only hurts you on the long run because you end up losing on something you might truly love. |
I will agree with you and say that it is pushing the limits for a home game. And people can lose out on gems if they don't look hard enough. But I would have to sift through so much shit to find a gem. Haha y'know?! I think it comes down to your playstyle and mine. You might have more time to play games, you might be more accepting of games and have more lenient standards, you might be on a hunt for that hidden gem. I just think in this day and age, hidden gems do not remain hidden for too long, and get exposed in the public, like games such as Amnesia which would have blatantly gone under the radar had it not been for the intrawebz. I bought it, played it, loved it. But I go into it informed. That is how I usually make my gaming decisions. I admit that I am probably less experimental than you and will not try out a game just to see if its good and can hence lose out on some solid gaming experiences out there. But there is so much to choose from in this market that the limited time I have to play will still be jam-packed with top notch experiences so I don't feel like I am losing out on anything.
I'll raise a glass to you enjoying this game when it comes out though. Hurrah!
