Yes, I failed to realize I am playing this in Home. And no, I am not allergic to Home either. I barely use it, but I think it serves other gamers' needs out there. Just not mine. But still, you can't deny that it looks so cheap. And even though it is a freebie, I DO lose something by playing it, TIME. I only have so much gaming time, so I invest it in the best of games I can get a hold of. AAA or unique titles get my attention. I will never buy HD remakes of old games and never play PS1 games, cause its a waste of my time. Same goes with this. It just looks so uninspired, and hey, good for the developer taking their first crack at a game, but maaaaaaaaaaaaan it looks like shit. Also, when a developer releases a 10 minute demo, you should absolutely expect their A material in it, otherwise the demo fails at its purpose of being a marketing tool. By all means, enjoy your time playing it when it comes out, not everyone has the highest standards and some people don't mind playing a shite game. |
My main complaint is that people don't seem to put budget and the confinds of limitations placed on a game by its platform. Yes its on the ps3, yes there are hundreds of games better than it but with that said, this is something being created on Home but at the same time, attempts and exceeds things far beyond its confinds and dare I say, some retail games out there.
So far, from everyone who's played it, I've yet to hear anything negative about the game.
There is such a thing as having too high a set of standards, because of this people tend to over look some hidden gems out there.
Note: I'm not saying this will be the best game ever, far from it, I'm saying beyond the obvious negatives, given a chance, this game could prove to be something interesting.
I would happily conceed that because it's a game made on Home, my expectations aren't as high as a result I'm happy to overlook a lot of the negatives, but that doesn't mean I should overlook the positives as well. No denying there's a chance I'll play it and absolutely hate it but at the same time, that can easily be said of any "higher standard games", you play the game and it turns out to be a waste of your time.
I don't see why this game should be any different, you could play it and it could very well surprise you.
For example, I went into SodiumOne: Salt Shooter in PSHome not expecting anything, but after playing it, it's now one of my favourite games OF ALL TIME. Now, I argue I would never have figured this out if I hadn't given it a chance, simply because it's on PSHome. Simply dismissing games because of what format they are on or how they "look" only hurts you on the long run because you end up losing on something you might truly love.
