Just gives us what's on the 3DS and we'll be happy.

I don't want to listen to people talk about my mum's sex life (Xbox live), and I don't want game specific friend codes (Wii)

3DS has it perfect, can play with randoms, but you only listen to those you added. Adding people is exactly the same as on xbl

There is so much wrong with this post.

Go on...

Well, the complaint about listening to others...if you cannot work out how to mute a player which takes all of 2 seconds I don't know what to tell you.  Is a completely redundant complaint.

3DS doesn't really do anything right, why would you only want to listen to those you added?  Are you anti-social and incapable making friends?  Aside from a few people you may need mute there are plenty of decent people out there on PSN and XBL who even if not on your friends list can be nice to chat with during a game, even make friends of them.  Sadly friend codes offer none of this, may as well be playing against bots.

Adding people is not the same either, on PSN and XBL you can send a friend request either by typing a gamertag or selecting it from a 'recently met' list, you can send a personal message with the request and all the person who recieves it needs do is accept the friend request.  On 3DS if you want to be friends with someone the first thing you need do is remove the 3DS from the equation because it is useless, you instead need go to a forum or something and exhange friend codes there, then both add eachother.  On 360/PSN if someone for whatever reason denies a friend request the sender immediatly knows, where as on 3DS that pending request will sit on your friend list forever if the person does add you until you finally realise they not gonna add you back.

SO there you go.

I'm complaing about the need to take 2 seconds DURING gameplay per person I need to mute (so in a 32 player game about 62 seconds)

You are complaining about the need to enter a 16 digit friend code, ONCE per friend you have.

I am the lazy one?

To be fair, that wasn't his entire complaint. He wants to be able to listen to everyone who plays, and I'm assuming (by what's been said) that you can't hear people who aren't your friends on the 3DS.

The Wii U will have and account system maybe based on one friend code per system, but this one is going in the right direction:

GM: Can you download a game right away when you see it on your Miiverse? Will you still have physical games too then?

Cindy: Yes. What we said is that every game for the Wii U, and this is true for the Nintendo 3DS too, will be available in both packaged as well as digital. It’s really about choice. What I remember as a parent, I prefer the download because I won’t lose the disk. But some people thrive on [having the physical game], to each his own.

GM: Is there a way you can play your games on another Nintendo, for example if I go to my parents’ house and want to play on their console?

Cindy: You’ll have an account system so you’ll be able to access your account anywhere.

So how many people read the titles and assumed it was Just like the Wii?

Now How many actually read the article?

Friend codes pissed me off no end on the Wii. Unfortunately (or fortunately, I guess), only one of my friends ever played online with his Wii, so we had some sessions of Mario Kart together and that's it.

If Nintendo launch a more online-friendly console, I expect a better system.  I don't want a generated number at all to be honest, I want to be able to pick my name myself.

I actually don't mind the friend codes, as long as it is a unified code tethered to the system like the 3DS has. At that point it's pretty much the same cocept as a gamertag. The problem comes when you have to enter a 16 digit code for EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

This is a horrible thread Mav. It's too soon to say what these codes will be. They could be strings of numbers like the Wii-3DS, or they could be letters and numbers up to the player's discretion, we just don't know.

Can you stop being so anti-Nintendo and think a little please?

Just posting news as I read them. I have a Wii, so drop the anti-Nintendo bull. I am dissappointed and pissed off at Nintendo and their E3 conference, they dropped the ball big time at trying to promote their new console(for the 2nd time in a row). Should I lie and say: wow nintendo's E3 conference was spectacular, tonnes of AAA exclusive launch titles to entice every type of gamer and a pletora of details regarding Nintendo Network?

In fariness though, on this site the sun literally shines out of Nintendo's arse and can do no wrong.

I hate people who can't read and understand.

I will not have friend codes. It will have your account and you will have to ask/approve friends. Read the full discussion and its apparent that its like that.

Dude, stop shifting the issue. We were not talking about the conference in general, FFS I have a whole thread ranting on that so I clearly don't disagree. oO

Whether you have a Wii or not doesn't make you less anti-Nintendo, which you are there is no doubt in my mind, you've proven it. You can be disappointed about the conference, but why proceed to propagate bullshit articles especially defend the fact when called out on it, and blame the hate on vgchartz.

I thought you were better than that.

Please, the most vocal Nintendo fans on here are often strong critics of the company, we just disagree with the straight-up haters about what Nintendo's doing wrong, but "the sun shines out their ass" it is not.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Not going to really comment without much hard knowledge as to what we'll actually see, but surely Nintendo is smart enough to trash the old system. There was nothing good about friend codes.
