You got it wrong, every month 2-3 games are removed and 2-3 new ones added. Aside from the the first batch, every game will spend 16 weeks roughly being available, then gets cycled out.

This means any new PS+ subscriber be it some who join today or in a year...instantly gets access to 12 games. Always.

You won't get another bombshell of games in 16 weeks, in 16 weeks the last of the games listed NOW will be cycled out, at that point the 12 games list will be fully different titles to what you see now, and you would have been getting them 2-3 per month.

In Europe there are only 10 games but they get cycled ever 12 weeks, meaning over the course of an entire year actually get 4 more games.

Ok. So will we receive weekly content? Maybe not large games, but I mean like weekly discounts and such?

Those should be bi-monthly if I recall correctly.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

EU PS Blog explains it pretty clearly.  http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2012/06/05/heads-up-playstation-plus-update-6th-june-2012/comment-page-3/#comments

"You’re getting 10 games up front and from next month, 3 of those games will change, and you’ll get at least 3 games per month thereafter.

The important thing is that whenever you decide to join PlayStation®Plus, there will be a minimum of 10 games for you to start playing right away."

"How come SCEA subscribers get 12 games and we only get 10?

It’s true, SCEA get two more games than SCEE subscribers up front.

However, most titles in SCEA Plus will stick around for 16 weeks before being refreshed – in SCEE we keep games for a maximum of 12 weeks, which means we rotate through more games in a full year – in fact we are committed to delivering over 45 games to you as part of your subscription before June 2013, and that’s before we factor in any extra minis or PS one titles that might show up. Additionally, any ‘PlayStation®Plus Presents’ games will be extra to the standard game rotation."

Thank you, I've updated the OP to reflect this as being the probably plan for SCEA as well.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I actually assumed this was pasted from somewhere else, did you do it yourself? It's well written and I like the template, looks pretty professional.

Thank you! Yes I wrote this myself. I'm looking to write more article/review style thread/posts. I hope that I'm doing a decent job and, of course, get better at it.

I don't get why Sony is raping our hard drives with these downloads, while not selling their own seperate hard drive. Microsoft does this, charging a fortune, and it sells - there is a major market of PS3 users looking to upgrade that are going elsewhere. The accessory market has huge margins, and I think Sony is missing out here.

buy a 1tb laptop hard drive... I rather be able to buy a $100 1tb laptop drive, which holds value after use with a PS3. the 360 drives will be almost useless. Not to mention the 360 drives are something like $100 for 250gb. a scam in itself.

Sonys big selling points are bang for buck and exclusives.  so cheap hard drives are good. they cant make them cheaper then PC or people would buy PS3 drives to use in laptops and such

I have a 160gb hard drive and I still won't be able to handle ps plus and i refuse to upgrade my hard drive again because of the crap I went through. I am just going to hunker down and hope I don't run out before the ps4 comes out.

Make sure to "purchase" the free games and download them when you want to play them, allowing you to delete the ones you are done with. Another good trick is to go into game data utility up a little above the trophy colection icon, you should be able to delete any game data and update data files you have, but only delete the ones from games you won't be playing or don't own anymore. These are not the same as saved game files which are in a different folder (do not delete those!),  You might already know all this but others might not. It freed up a few gigs for me.

I know, but won't that get redownloaded by ps plus? Or is that the install data? I wish i could choose what i want it to download so it wouldn't download updates for crap like Home.

Install data takes up more space than patches, delete an install data for a game you no longer play (usually over 1Gb)

Home doesn't get downloaded unless you actually go there.

If you stop using something or use something else in its place, it will stop downloading the item.

e.g I play GT5 last but then deleted the update

PS+ sees I don't have the update for GT5 and tries to update it for me.

delete its last attempt and then use something/play  something else

after you've used 3-5 other items, GT5 will no longer be a priority.

how big is the HOME file?? I have always been curious but i was on the brink with my limited space, now I dont have that problem and want to check it out.

there are about 3 "flavours" 3GB-5GB and 8GB. Depending on how much you intend on using Home, choose the one that best suits you. I went for the 8gb so I could download as much of the spaces as possible. I enjoy home a lot so don't take my word for it as you might not like it.

thanks will check out

From a corporate stand point i get that, but as a consumer unless it had a nice benefit such as being able to wirelessly sync with a pc or psp/psvita, i would not be intrested in buying their "margin rich" over price HDD, when i can get 1.5 or 3 tb HDD for $100-$130.

Non the less, i think sony wants to implement a bigger cloud service to go along with Plus. they make more money selling PS+ and just offer cloud service, vs manufactuering or distrubting off a third party, external HDD. PS plus is pure margin of $17 to $50 everytime they sell it. can they honestly return a $50 profit on every external HDD when they can just let you figure out your own storage? i wonder

What's the point in this thread may I ask, serious question. Not trolling just don't see the point in pointing out what anyone already knows and trying to make Nintendo and MS look bad like some kind of PR bullshit.

Did you make the same comment in the "Nintendo innovates thread"?

I would if I'd read it :p

lol that shut him up fast

Eh, I'm not sure what the problem is here, ahhh anyway, you lot seem to be having a good discussion so i'll politely not bother you again here.

No trolling:

Is there anything else that PS+ offers except limited discounts and cloud saving?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
