Sterne Agee’s Arvind Bhatia has been questioning publishers on the E3 show floor to find out what they are most excited for. The majority that Bhatia questioned were more excited about the potential of the next Xbox and the PlayStation 4, than they are about Nintendo’s next console, Wii U.

“Publishers [are] excited about PS4 and Xbox 720. Publishers seem to be a lot more excited about the potential for the next consoles from Microsoft and Sony than they are about Nintendo Wii U.”

Honestly.
How could they be much more excited when even the name hasn't been officially released?! I mean, Come on!!

Probably because with those companies you have a straight forward approach. With the Wii U they have to do extra and work harder for the same results. Plus I am sure they will be much more powerful than the Wii U. You will be able to do more and go to the next level of gaming on consoles with them.

I don't know.

Those are quite large guesses, as I have said, there isn't even a name.

They are gonna see the graphics, get excited. Then they are going to see the price of the consoles, then get depressed. lol Seriously, thats my prediction. Anyone want to bet?

If the Wii U can sell well and be popular then they will change their minds.

They didn't for the Wii.

Of course they are - those systems won't have Nintendo games to compete with.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

The unknown is always more exciting. Nothing to see here really.

It is most likely because pubs and devs are assuming the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft will be substantially more powerful and straightforward experiences that they're used to.

As much as developers hate rising costs, and as much as those rising costs are severely destroying the middle market and segmenting the entire industry, developers still love more and more power.

Yes, I will bet with you^

I thought you were a new member, did you not have an avatar last week?

Nope, had no Avatar. Yesterday, I was like, "ya know, ive been in this forum for a while now, still haven't had an avatar." So I just put one up real quick.

I'll defiantly do a bet with this, because I can remember all the ps3 fans going "Its gonna have blu ray, amazing graphics, and da Cell! It's gonna be amazing!" Then they saw the price of the PS3 and were pissed off. Even though the new consoles wont have any crazy features like blu ray, hardware is getting pretty expensive, and I doubt both Microsoft and Sony will be willing to lose a lot of money. And they can't go underpowered, because just like how nintendo is expected to be different, sony and microsoft are expected to be powerful.

I think the next Playstation will be called PS4. Just a hunch.
