EA's not going to do anything impressive the first year Madden is released on a new console. Why would they have to? It's a new system without many games. People will naturally buy it because it's a familiar franchise for people to play on their new system. Next year, in order to keep people interested, they'll probably show off some new features involving the tablet but I don't see it happening with this years edition.

At least it should be better than their first 3DS Madden effort <_>

there is a 3ds one haha? not in AUS.

Anyway, madden on WiiU cannot just be a mediocre effort as it will set the tone for future sales. Look at Wii as an example. The first madden, tiger woods etc.. All where pretty decent visual and had decent controls. So it sold ok fgor launch period with minimal console sales. Then they went into that whoel dumbed down cartoon crap and sale plumitted.

Redundant title is redundant.

Anyway, Madden isn't the best example of how EA Sports is supporting Wii U. However, the fact that FIFA 13 will get a Wii U version is, in a word, outstanding.

A lot of non announced games are coming to the U this year....this Madde, FIFA, that Avengers game, maybe CoD, something from Capcom?....the E3 is not the centre of the world...

An EA rep had this to say:

"I can't really talk about it much, but I think what we're doing is really cool. Maybe we're not hearing a lot about [Wii U] today or in this week, but I certainly believe it's going to be a product we're going to be proud of. Here's what I will say, and she. You may not want to hear me say this, but it's the truth: Whatever we release on the Wii U will not be a cartoony, dumbed-down, arcade football experience. It will be the real deal, HD simulation football."

What we have here is an admission that, by their own standards, EA Sports made a subpar effort on Wii.

Does that mean hardcore gamers will now accept that these hardcore games did not sell on Wii because of subpar effort? or they still expecting big sales? otherwise Nintendo isn't hardcore enough

I dont have a problem with arcade sports games, i have a problem with certain devs going cheap on a console that needs big efforts to really shine, they made no favour to the console and specially to themselves...

Hey, at least it won't be that cartoon crap that they released on the Wii. It'll probably just be crap this time.

This statement would have come in handy in numerous debates over the last five years....
