Sony wins out of the big 3. Sad, because all they showed us was things we already knew about, and it mostly seemed like more of the same. I mean, really, we know how God of War plays by now. Really, the only thing I liked about that conference was The Last of Us, although GOW and the Smash clone look alright. I was bored to tears throughout most of it, though.

Pikmin was awesome - but Nintendo kept going downhill from there. Nintendoland sounds kind of fun, but all anyone wanted was a trailer for a new IP or franchise revival to close out the show. Seriously, for a show that was supposed to be all about the games, there was a lot of talking. Still beats out Halo 4 and Usher.

Ubisoft wins overall.

Ubisoft wins because they basically bailed out Sony and Nintendo.

Bailed out Nintendo - sure, but how Sony?

Assassin's Creed for Vita, plus very nice ACIII navel combat demo. If not for Ubisoft, Vita would be even more sunk and Sony would have to show something less interesting right before Blunderbook hit.

Ubisoft>>Nintendo>>>Sony>Konami>EA>>>>>>>>>>>>>Microsoft.

reasons:
Ubisoft: amazing host, rayman legends demo, Zombi U trailer, Watch dogs, AC3, Tits.

Nintendo: Pikmin 3, REGGIE SAID HIS BODY WAS READY, 3 Mario games, 2 Wii-U gamepads confirmed, ScribbleNauts Unlimited, Luigi's mansion, WiiFit U, I understand the console more now, Third parties on joining Nintendo (even if they didn't show new games), Nintendoland will be a nice pack-in.

Sony:They had cool gameplay of already announced games, a nice trailer of David Cage's next novela, Wonderbook was hilarious.

Konami: metal gear rizing revengence, Lords of Shadow 2 trailer, Mega64

EA: Had Dead Space 3, Battlefield 3 dlc (which will eventually lead to goty that I will buy), SWToR is being supported and might go free to play.

Microsoft: Usher's shirt, Matt Parker and Trey Smith, Halo 4 was kind of cool.

While making this list, I looked back at adding negatives because of things like only showed off multiplatform games or they didn't announce a game I wanted or didn't talk about a specific handheld long enough. After getting rid of those, I'm starting to like Nintendo's press conference more and more I know they have a bunch of games coming and that since the success of the Wii and more mainstream media is at E3 now that they had to show off games like Sing, Nintendoland, Wonderbook, Wreckateers, fitness games, and other non-hardcore games. E3 is now longer only for the hardcore, which is kind of disappointing, but I still am glad that I get to see all of these amazing games that are shown.

Spike Tv seeks to think Nintendo wins because of Gallup polls and how many Nintendo tweets.

They just said they don't track negative and positive tweets, just overall. So they don't know really know how Ninty is doing with the Public.

Of the big three these are my scores.

MS 7/10
Sony 7/10
Nintendo 5/10

Keep in mind that I use the whole grading scale so a 5 would be an average not bad not great type of score.

I was expecting the most from Nintendo because with a new console should come the biggest surprises. We didn't get a new Metroid, Zelda, or a new main Mario. It was all spin off Mario and 3rd Party stuff. Most of the 3rd party games are ports, which while good to know are coming aren't exactly going to set the stage on fire. Maybe if I was a Pikmen fan I'd be more excited, but since I'm not Nintendo gets a 5/10.

MS and Sony had the same pluses and minuses. They both showed some killer games, they both showed stuff hardcore gamers don't care about, and they both showed too much 3rd party stuff. Neither announced any truly surprising, but what they showed for games does look very good.

So of the top two of the big three it comes down to personal taste. If you like Sony games you are going to think Sony "won" E3. If you like Xbox games then you are going to argue MS "won" E3. Since I'm a huge Halo fan and Halo 4 looks to be the best in the spectacular Halo series, I'm going to say that Halo won E3.

Ubisoft because of the epicness of AC3 and that last game

Ok, I'm a bit confused.  As I've mentioned before, I gave Sony a 6 and MS a 'Meh' on the respective threads (which, for me, is the same rating), but why are people ripping on the MS conference as if it were Nintendo 2009?  What was so HORRIBLE about it that makes it the clear "loser" (I haven't watched Nintendo's and won't because I'm spent)???

Halo 4 looked really good.

Splinter Cell also looked really good.  Spies v Mercs!!!

Madden 13 was ... Madden (sorry, I'm a 2K guy; never give up hope).

Fable: The Journey, GeoW: Judgement, Forza Horizons ... all popular series returning with what will likely be quality entry's (Kinect YMMV), but disappointing no gameplay demonstrations or even footage of the later two.  Stage demos later those ...

Bunch of XBL non game entertainment, nothing for gamers directly but nothing awful there at all.

Nike+ is potentially more awesome than people are giving it credit for.  I need to lose about 30-40 lbs to be my old sexy self, so I can see the benefits.

Smartglass:  awesome potential, best feature of it's type because it looks to be relatively device agnostic.  Apple, Sony and Nintendo can't compete with that.

Tomb Raider, again, LOOKS REALLY GOOD.  Still waiting for the awful ...

Ascend ... eh, not for me.  Ok, not impressed.

Lococycle.  Twisted Pixel, so it'll be good stuff for sure, but it'd be nice to see some actual footage.

IntroducingMatter.  It'd be nice to see some actual footage (4th time I'm saying this, which is a con for sure).

Resident Evil 6 looked appropriately zombpocalyptically epic and nuRE.  Nothing bad here.

Wreckateer is a Kinect game, so everyone's gonna groan.  Looks like a decent XBLA experience for casuals and kids, but pretty meh for me.

South Park RPG - Looks like an ep of SP.  Either you're a fan or not (I'm not).

Dance Central 3:  nerds and geeks hate to dance, so this will earn no respect, even if it is a fun experience that can teach you some moves.  Will never be a win with gamers nerds, but definitely isn't a con.  Usher concert YMMV depending on how much you like him.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was a lousy announcement for a finale, but the actual game looked impressive for the most part.  I was writing it off as soon as they introduced it but it grew on me as it continued.

So again, I ask, what was SOOOOOOO awful about this that it deserved to be shoved in the doldrums of worst press conferences ever?  There was none of the annoying posturing that drives me nuts (Sony finally had less but still too much; the Kaz worship was particulary groanworthy) and it had a great pace where nothing went on TOO long.

This. There was nothing absolutely horrible about the MS E3 conference. Halo 4 looked way better than I could have ever hoped for which brought the conference up as a whole for me.

So in a sense, according to people here, Nintendo's conference was the absolute worst? I say that because if Microsoft and Sony were just showing end-of-the-gen wrap up material, and Nintendo is launching a next gen console, then wouldn't Nintendo's be the worst?

That'd be correct, yes.
