This month had another decline over last month, although by only about 5%. Several games made dramatic leaps over prior months, including Halo 4, Borderlands 2, New Super Mario Bros 2, and most notably, The Last of Us, a rare non-Nintendo monthly winner.
Thanks in large part to the sucess of The Last of Us, Sony had a 54 point increase over May's results. Microsoft did better thanks to Halo 4, but continues to lack any other major titles. Nintendo saw an overall decrease, which would have been far worse were it not for NSMB2, which admittedly may have sabotaged other Nintendo games. The other big losers of the month were Capcom and Square Enix due to the decline in interest in their handheld offerings.
The platforms that fared more worse month over month include the DS, which lost a lot of Pokemon-based points, the Wii, which continues to plummet in the aftermath of Skyward Sword and Xenoblade, the 3DS, possibly due to an overall decline in Nintendo voters, and the PC, which lacked any single powerful title to unite voters. In contrast, The 360 grew thanks to Halo 4, the PS3 gained a few points, and the Vita /PSP combo remained mostly steady. For the first time, the Wii U has more points than the Wii.
Major games of June include Gravity Rush for the Vita and not much else as far as these charts are concerned. The big question of next month is whether any new games announced at E3 will reinvigorate support for the Vita, as well as other systems.
