Forums - General - WW2 Thread - Hitler and Germany Welcome Japan's Foreign Minister

Not a lot of people know about this but Japan and Germany were close allies in WW2. In this video, huge crowds gather in Berlin to welcome the Japanese foreign minister. German foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop meets the honored guests at the train. Next to him is Field Marshall Keitel, Wehrmacht Commander-in-Chief. Japanese ambassador General Oshima and Reich Minister Dr.Goebbels also attended.

Isn't it strange how things were so different in the 40s.

Video is down below.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Germany was also a close ally with the USSR, until Operation Barbarossa.

Can't say I know too much about the strengths for Hitler having an ally in Japan, but I don't doubt he would have sought Asia at some point if he succeeded in Europe and the USA wasn't involved.

Both had the same enemies, namely Great Britain and (despite the nonagression treaties that BOTH countries had with them) the Soviet Union. Simply fighting the same country at the same time, even if they were coordinated in no other way, worked to their advantage.
