High-school years: Babysitter, house maintenance at dad's place (an actual job, we lived in a big house). Graduated HS in 2001.

2001-2003: Camp counselor, lifeguard and volunteered in philanthropic kids ministry. Graduated CEGEP in Pure Sciences.

2003-2007: Studying software engineering in an internship program. Graduated in 2007 with 3 main Software Eng work experiences.
Internship 1) 2004: QA of Helicopter ECUs.
Internship 2) 2005: QA of an ERP.
Internship 3) 2006: Network admin

2008 to present: In the software field. 3 jobs to date.

job 1) 2008: ERP systems engineering.
job 2) 2009: Network admin and systems developer.
job 3) 2010: QA of Banking software applications.

I've been at my last job for the last 2 years, and I'm a very happy professional (I love it here). Based in Fredericton, it's a well-paced work environment, free of burnout.

19 Full time bread delivery
20 - 23 Trainee software engineer. I led a team to develop a package that could read and render airport data from Microsoft Flight Simulator for use in tower simulation software. I was then put in a team to develop radar simulation software until the company moved their operations to the US.
23-28 Freelance software engineer. Developed many systems and solutions for companies ranging from local business to large multinational conglomerate.
28-Now Systems Analyst/Programmer for a manufacturing business that runs 24/7.

Do you mean that you just quit today? Or are you meaning that you've been that since '02?

I mean that I've worked since 2002 until present day (how should I have worded it more correctly?). Who knows about the future but no, I didn't quit yet.

"Since 2002" would have been a bit better, I think.

lol, nope I quit to go to school but probably would have quit eventually anyways because, again, I suck at retail and not too great at customer service.

One day I had a guy actually come in and ask me (the Geek Squad agent) to teach him Photoshop.  As politely as I could, I told him that wasn't our job and even if it was, I didn't know the first thing about Photoshop at the time.  He then told me to grab one of the books off the shelf and teach him from that to which I replied he could just grab the book and teach himself (again, not good at customer service :-p).  He got all sorts of pissy, wanted to talk to a manager, manager pretty much told him the same thing.

That kind of thing was a daily occurrence.  Luckily I work and deal with competent people now.  ^^

So what exactly do you do? You said level designer since several years.

Well I'm 20 so I don't really have much job experience. I've only held one job before and that was a summer research placement at the university of Hertfordshire studying low mass astronomical objects. And now I am at UCL doing my masters degree in Astrophysics.

Well this summer I'm hoping to find myself a job, so if all goes well I will be able to add a bit more work experience under my belt, experience that will be at least somewhat relevant to my field of work.

My life started in 1991 and as of today I'm seen as a university student studying economics in one of the most prestigious universities of Europe. I have several thousand euros and outside some shares I have my own online business I'm trying to put on the ground.

age - job

8-12 - (raked blueberries)

13 -15 - (odd little jobs for my uncle, he owns a farm, painting, bailing hay, mowing lawn and some fishing related jobs)

16 - 17 - worked for the goverment cleaning walking trails

18 - after college got a job putting up foundations for houses and buildings, and everything else that involved concrete

19 - 22 - (last boss was a big hard ass, couldn't do anything without being cursed at all day) new job building houses, renovations, siding, roofing, icf forms (basically everything that has to do with construction)

23 - last job got old and the pay was horrible so got new job framing houses and the odd renovation, best job I ever had!

...hmm I'd like to try a desk job.

During college I worked for my local DIY store part-time as a sales asisstant. I was there for two years. After I finished college at 19 I Left there.

For a few months I worked cash in hand for a local pub a few times a week ( I kept this up for 6 years one shift a week after I started my next job)

6 months after I left my job in my local DIY store (now aged 20) I re applied to work there, this time full-time.I worked there for 8 years progressing from Sales Asisstant to Team Leader to Sales Floor Manager. As Sales Floor Manager I worked in several branches in the south west. 11 months ago I was made redundant when the company collapsed.

Aged 28 and immediately after I was made redundant, I join the competitor of my previous employer in a similar role. I've hated every minute of it.

Next week aged 29 I start work at a Builders Merchant selling everything the construction industry need to build. Also I get to drive a massive digger to fill tonne bags of aggerregate. How cool is that? It's less money than I'm currently on but as long as I can enjoy my job that's the main thing.
