Forums - Movies & TV - PROMETHEUS - Ridley Scott doing Sci-Fi. Right Sci-Fi.

Still have to see this one.. Might go on Tuesday, should be decently quiet in the Cinema...

Watched this the other day in 3d, as someone earlier commented its visually very appealing as is expected from Ridley, but the film is full of so many clichés & plot holes its very unlike Ridley scott as is the lack of character development for 90% of the cast.

I will say though that Noomi rapace & Michael Fassbender were awesome, great acting, unlike Charlize theron who frankly might as well not bothered turning up, but that's down to the ridiculously shallow character she plays. Guy pearce is ok as well but there is a moment in the film which concerning his character is laughable in its absurdity.

It did make for a decent debate in the pub afterwards but ultimately its a very forgettable film. I kinda hope to god there's a blu ray extended edition for this which would help to develop the film more into what I hoped it would be, if not I fear for his sequel to Bladerunner.

The movie is a bit "overhyped"

don't get me wrong the movie is good but it isn't really "THAT" good

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Ok, so it was good until the plot started to kick in. I'm sorry, but I already have my share of cosmic horror from Scott, no need to go back there. I don't regret watching it, it's just that it probably won't even be on my top 10 of the year.

I saw it last week in Belgium, and wanted to make a comment, but yours pretty much sums it up. So i second this.

I've seen the movie twice now. Its growing on me. Dumb characters and rushed script aside, there is a lot of god stuff here that I over looked on my first viewing.

movie was just okay. I did'nt hate it,but I wasn't blown away bye it. The whole movie felt like one big set-up for another movie/sequel. I liked the visuals and the overall look of the movie, but the characters were boring, except for the android character and maybe the noomi rapace character. Some of the characters actions were just laughable, especially toward the end of the movie. I did like the idea of the storyline, but the excution was just so all over the place and it just left you with more questions, then answer's. Maybe, the sequel will leave me more satisified,if they make it?
