I think this has less to do with WiiU and more to do with THQ's problems

Yes. VGC has the first game at around 600k sales, which obviously doesn't count digital sales but they probably wouldn't produce a spectacular difference. That can't have been a great success for them and would be a testament to their problems.
I'm surprised they've gone for a sequel at all, but then we might be seeing the sunk cost argument rising its head again.

Quite amusing to see a lot of people jumping on the "lazy, poor, don't care" bandwagon immediately.
Wii U -/- necesarrily.
They're a small team, developing for 3 existing platforms is hard enough as it is, let alone adding a platform that isn't even out yet.
If they can, they will release it in due time.

Yea it boogles my mind TBH, they already delayed the game to make sure it was polished and the first game wasn't on PS3 so they are already adding another platform for this game. It's not like they are rulling out a Wii U port in the future but they don't really have the resorces to do it at the same time. I mean plenty of major studios can't even lunch on 3 platforms at the same time these days just look at Max Payne 3 lol.
Not to mention the fact that they are making one of the best looking games ever from what we have seen from pre-alpha builds. While building a world class prepriatary engine as well.
THQ already have 3 games set for the Wii U launch window (Darksiders 2, and 2 unanounced games one of which is a Wii U exclusive) anyway so they probably not to concerned about moving a possible Wii U version further out.
I'm really not sure why people are acting like the game was outright canceled on the Wii U, a more direct quote
"We've been working on a Wii U version. At the moment we're focusing on existing platforms and PC so it's unlikely that the Wii U version will come out at the same time as those three," Beynon explained.

Yeah I suppose your right, I forgot it was THQ who made Metro, and if hardcore third party games performance on the Wii are anything to go by, they may not even cover their costs for developing it for the Wii-u.

Well they didn't really make it, just published it via their partners program, 4A is an independent developer.

The usual suspects will tell you it is a conspiracy theory to take down Nintendo. Probably, 100% due to perceived profit margins by the company and nothing more.

you know i, like alot of people here, can understand thq's decision. However, i can't help but wonder if they are really missing out on an oppurtunity. Launch games tend to do really well. Even crappy ones (look at the first red steel). I feel like they could even be missing out on alot of sales not obtained from the predacessor by being out for a brand new system. Unless the market is saturated by shooters and action games at launch, but for some reason i don't see that happening. I think they may have benefitted from making the wii-u version a priority, and postponing the ps360 versions. But then again i'm just a gamer/audio engineer. What do i know about game marketing/development?
