Forums - Sony - Pre-Order Gran Turismo 5: Prologue for $39.99 @ gamestop.com

Considering they have been releasing Prologue games since the first Gran Turismo how can anyone say that it's a ripoff or out of character for them to release this?

Anyways its a pretty good deal actually. Luckily I get 10% off at Walmart so I'll just wait for it to be released.

Just because they've done it since the first GT, doesn't mean it still isn't a rip off.  At the very least they should provide a discount for the full game when it comes out, considering the prologue content is part of it...

What they should do is sell the prologue for the full price, and then provide the full game for free to those that bought the prologue already.

Really why wouldn't it be $60.

Because it's not a full game. It pisses me off to no end that Sony expects us to buy an extended demo for $40 and the real game for $60 later in the year (or early next year).

Meh, they can go **** themselves. $20, I could deal with. Free would be better (and drive console sales). But $40? No way, I'll wait for the real version, thanks.

well any demo with over 100 cars and less then a dozen tracks 16 player online........well worth it... actaully thats more then most racers out there that are 60 bucks. i will have NO problem buying both and i will 1st day they are released..

well considering you could simpy trade in the disc and put that towards the full game counts as a discount now doesnt it? Plus your data from Prologue can be transfered to the main game to unlock the vehicles you unlocked in Prologue.

I'm pretty sure it cost $60.

Regardless, I'm waiting for the Gran Turismo 5.

$60 would be a lot of money for a tiny slice of GT 5.

It is kind of lame that Sony is trying to milk its more loyal fans for $100 instead of $60, which is already a questionable price point for games in my opinion. I personally won't be looking much at the prologue, but if GT5 looks good enough it could be the tipping poing for me to get a PS3.

Can you provide a link for this?

No one is stopping you from buying it. I think it's a ripoff and obviously, I'm not the only one here who feels that way (though I am curious to know if I'm the only one here who feels that way and actually owns a PS3).

It has more cars/tracks then most racers. It also has 16 player online. It is worth the $40.

I'll not put down 3-400 NOK on Prologue, and then another 5-600 on the finished game. Seems like a waste of money to me.
That's why I never bought any of the prologue games before either.

$40 for prologue? That's what I paid for Forza 2! The whole thing!

No way Jose.

Out of character? Not at all... But it's not a good deal if you end up buying the full version. What's the trade in value of prologue when GT5 comes out? $4?
