Don't worry, they only advertise Best Brand Soda, and I never heard of them.

Why would they patent this?
Oh my, this would be just horrid for video games, if it was ever implemented.
I simply wouldn't buy a Sony console if I had to stop gameplay to watch an ad on it.
Oh you guys, freaking out about everything. Companies files tons of patents all the time, just to have them around. Most of them never get used.
I would not like and I hope if they did that it would be only on free to play games, or kill the game as everyone would go to another platform. It would be bad if other game companies did that too.
There are already ads in games, like Billboards and such. I would not like my game play to be stopped to watch a commercial like a TV show.

I doubt anything's gonna come from this but if anything, this will be for free-to-play games. A lot of free iOS games have ads everywhere. Dev has to make some money some how.

i suppose Sony is only snatching up that patent to protect gamers from Microsoft implementing it.
