Forums - Microsoft - So Mw3 hits 14M on 360 But series on decline?

COD is like a  Katamari Damacy ball.

Every year it rolls over more and more people and gets bigger and bigger.

COD shows no sign of slowing down at all.

Which is strange because it defies all standard logic. If any other video game series was milked this hard the gamers would have lost interest a long time ago.

COD will only grow and grow, In fact if it continues to get bigger and bigger it will become the best selling video game franchise in history.

Because it's vastly overtracked here.... Since launch month pretty much every month NPD has reported declined sales vs black ops (like the whole market has declined month after month) and situation is not that much different in Europe.

no, it's not overtracked. it just broke all sales records of the entertainment industry in the he first days/weeks and if more people interested in something buy it  the first days, less will buy it after some months/years.

mw3 had $100 million higher revenue the first 5 days than the second most successful cod. and if the sales are lower now (which i don't doubt), doesn't change the fact that it sold so much more the first weeks that sales will be always before the older cod's lifetime.

As of april Modern Warfare 3 was 4.2% behind Black Ops  in US after same time in the market and every month it has fallen further and further from Black Ops's pace. During march it sold less than half compared to BO last year. Considering the state of European gaming market it isn't doing better in Europe either. In UK it actually sold less than Black Ops even during the launch.

It's not in a Sales decline at all.

The quality of the campaing is going down
its peak was CoD4 MW
since then the series is not going anywhere
MW3 s campaing is mediocre
CoD multiplayer is been always awful with ridiculously small maps
Of course graphic whores (most of CoD users) will always be happy with it............it looks realistic OMG!
CoD is a mediocre game with nice production value
Thats my opinion

and now? vgchartz doesn't say anything else. in january, black ops sales were much higher than mw3 sales in usa and maybe in april, they were higher overall. but vgchartz has a big advantage for mw3 in europe (which i don't wonder about with huge advertisements in football games and so on).

It may be behind Black Ops in the US by a small percentage (VgChartz does show this) but it is UP by double digits percentage in Europe.

I´ll be amazed if Black ops 2 tops it. Not because it can´t beacause how people can buy bascially same game evry year.

The series is simply getting more and more front-loaded so it's normal for the legs to diminish with every new entry.

How ignorant.

Go play Black Ops for a few hours, then play MW3.

There's a huge difference and they are 2 completely different games.
