Forums - Sales - Diablo III sells 6.3 million LtD, 3.5 million in first 24 hours

Awesome game
Deserves it - Far better than Diablo 2.

Fair Difficulty - Farming Act 2 Inferno with my Barb without any Problems.800 Resistance to Elements and stuff is the key.Getting better with surviving in Act 3 on Inferno but still nowhere near destroying everything so im still farming good gear.
Far better Skills and more usefull builds compared to D2...If you wanted to farm fast and sucesful in D2 you used the 0815 Guide Build. Here you can build your own(if you don't try retarded stuff) and the key here is called ELECTIVE MODE in the options.

This game is awesome in every single way(except the server problems on the beginning).
And yes Wizard and DH are a little bit OP but so can a Barbarian be if you progress slowly and farm your gear.
As i said i can DESTROY 3 Champion Packs at the SAME time in Act 2 Inferno without even dropping to 50% health - Its all about gear and drop luck.

Shame really the game doesn't deserve those kind of sales.

Do you own it?

Yup big disappointment, it just feels like a money grab attempt.

Did they ever promise it was going to be Diablo II + better graphics + mild interface updates?

What are you disappointed in?

To me the whole game seems to be focused of forcing you to use the AH to get gear and once the real money AH starts up=all the decent gear will be sold for money.

I agree with you. This was made very clear beforehand though. The whole game was delayed despite being done just so they could get Korean approval of the RMAH.

You're makIng assumptions on a feature that hasn't even launched yet. D2 had websites where you can buy gear

D2legit.com

D2items.com

D2craft.com

Itempub.com

D2auction.com

And another 50 easily found on google. So what? You're insulting the RMAH before its even out yet. If anything the RMAH is great in that it makes the process of buying cyber gear feel secure for those who want to.

God damn, I wonder if heart of the swarm can beat it

Not a chance. As far as I can tell I don't think Starcraft II has even hit the 6 million mark yet, though admittedly I haven't kept up to date on the figures. If anyone has updated sales on the game I'd like to know.

last time they mentioned sales they said it was at 4 million but that was at the end of 2010, it's probably ~5 million by now. So no it will not come close to D3's sales. Starcraft 1 managed 11+ million but that had 10 years to reach those numbers.

And I believe that figure includes sales for Brood War, so Diablo III may have even outsold the original Starcraft in one week. Very, very impressive.

Those CoD sales were across all platforms, while Diablo only released on PC and requires an internet connection.

That's really an unfair comparison.
