Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft Leaks Tons of Wii-U Information

"However, Ubisoft isn't developing on Microsoft's new console yet"
"After what happened with 3DS' launch, however, Nintendo decided to lower Wii-U's price: the final ne hasn't been confirmed yet, but apparently it will be about 350-400$"

If Ubi isn't making any 720 games, MS probably wont show it off at this E3, not even proof of concept. If that is the case, Nintendo truly does have a full year head start in the console race.
I'm banking on the price being closer to $350. $400 is insane.

Some of this might be true but others seems to be completely BS, like the 560 MB for the OS, that's really insane for a gaming console. The price is also kind of weird, but Nintendo likes to make a lot of profit for their consoles so $400 is not really all that bad (depending on how powerful the final version is), the Radeon HD 6670 seems posible though, it's an average video card and cheap.

Bunk. Nintendo doesn't release game consoles on Fridays. lol. Come on. $450? Also: come on. lol.

If the 6770 card is in the Wii-u that price wouldn't surprise me. Nintendo likes to sell there consoles at a profit unlike Sony and Microsoft which usually sells there consoles at a loss for the first couple years.

that gpu is cheap!

Exactly. That GPU would not make sense if Nintendo is selling us a $450 console.  It would be way under-powered for that kind of money.  I think 75% of that list is true, though.  But there are some things sprinkled in there that are just blatantly fake.  Now, if the $450 is from a different currency and was just mis-translated into dollars without accounting for exchange rates, maybe it's for real.  But in the US, there is no way Nintendo would release the Wii U for more than $349.  Not if they want to still be a company come next E3.

but the translation says the price will be 350-400. they had the plan to release it for 450 but since they saw what happened with 3ds they won't release it for that price.

If the Wii U costs $400 then I think Nintendo is toast.

Do you guys expect this thing to cost as much as Nintendo usually releases there console like $199 - $249, because that's not gonna happen this time. It'll easily be over $300.

Nintendo always puts low-cost, dated components in their hardware.  The 3DS has a PICA 200 in it, for crying out loud.  They won't charge $400 for Wii U, and they will still make a profit.

They were charging 250 for the 3DS, the most expensive handheld they ever had, but then decided to cut prices because of the lack of sales, now I'm sure there selling ti at a loss, something Nintendo never does. The same will happen with the Wii-U, there going to have to price it high for what it is, but by the time they seen what pricing high with the 3DS did for them it was to late to change anything or do much about it with the Wii-U.

Sony always charged $299 for a launch price on there consoles until the PS3. Just because they did it before doesn't meal they'll do it every gen.

The 3DS launch price of $250 was pure arrogance on Nintendo's part.  They had a huge markup on it, no big first-party games unti Ocarina 3D in June,  and they thought the popularity of the original DS would carry over to the 3DS, even with the lack of AAA software.  They were totally wrong.  If they'd held onto it until last Christmas to release it, they'd be fine.  But who wants a $250 Nintendo handheld in the spring with no games?

The Wii U is using dated components that will barely out-match the 360, so there is reason whatsoever the Wii U needs to cost more than $300-350.  In fact, I think even at $299, the Wii U might make a small profit for Nintendo on each unit sold.  Even if it's only $5 or $10, that's still really good.

I think $299 is the golden ticket.  Anything lower and they're taking a loss in order to sell faster, anything higher and they're making a tidy profit on each unit sold but after the holiday season sales will drop off a cliff until the following Q4.

I would even be fine with $349, which seems the most likely price if they're anticipating sell-out situations during launch.  If it's "always sold out" it will help sales since people always want what they can't have.

What!?  "barely out-match the 360", based and this rumors, and also some previus ones, there is no way the 360 is close to the Wii U, even if this rumors are false (which some of them probably are) it will still be more powerful than the 360. The processor of the Wii U, which is a IBM Power 7 (this is confirmed, the thing is which model and how modified it will be) is significantly more powerful that the one on the 360 (the Xenon processor) also the Xenos graphics card on the 360 is equivalent to the ATi Radeon X1800 XT which is also significantly less powerful than the HD 6670. Of course this are rumors but saying barely out-match is just stupid.

  • After Dream he went to eat (???)
  • Ass Creed 3 on Wii-U runs at 60 fps, with 1080p, against 360's and PS3's 720p
Link

I have no idea what the dream thing is supposed to mean but why would they stop making it in 1080 for the 360, I can't speak for the ps3 but haven't all the assassins creed games been in 1080i/?? Up until now thats ALL OFF THEIR FANBASE!!! I've seen the videos, the graphics are great sure but nothing more than they have already handled.

edit: realied after i posted assassins creed is on pc and possibly ds? i think... but atleast %90 are ps3 and xbox owners.

I think it's upscaled to 1080. Almost certainly not native 1080 resolution. They may use higher res assets for the Wii U version if the GPU specs are to be believed.
