I got to say CD Project RED is confusing me. Last they tried to track down pirates and make them pay, and now they are cool with it?

I bought every single DC Comics animated movei to date, on Blu Ray, except the last two. I pirated them before they came out. I told myself that I'd buy them later but I have yet to do it. I now feel that I never will. I went from buying every single one to not buying at all. I am a lost sale.
I purchased over 100 games in 2011 and probably 40 games in 2012 (give or take). If I knew how to pirate, I would have a lot more money in my pocket. I can afford any game I want and I usually buy them on day one. If I could pirate, I wouldn't waste a single dollar on gaming, ever again.
some people will pirate some won't, some people would buy the game if they cant pirate, some people wont. When a company says they lost x amount of money due to lost sales, that is crap. because not everyone would have bought the game anyway. One of best friends told me he would never buy a DS or PC game even if he could not pirate them

CD Projekt RED is the dev studio, CD Projekt is the owner of said studio. The representetives of each don't always see eye to eye on everything, they are people after all.
I hope that clears up any confusion you may have had

I pirated the witcher 1 and played it for a bit then got it from GOG, so it worked for that game.
None of my Wii, PSP or DS games have inspired me to pay for them though. I still have 0 paid for games for any system.

This is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long time!
Basically he is saying this situation below is ok.
"Buy this car, it's great!"
"Ya I don't really want to buy it but I'll take it for free"
"No problem sir, here's your car"
Next person
"Hey I'd like that car too please. Can I get it for free too?"
"If I said no, would you still buy it?"
"I guess"
"Then no. Sorry but unlike the other guy who didn't really want it, you have to pay"
I swear the world keeps losing brain cells.

This still isn't how this works.
Aquiring copy =/= theft, the car would still be standing in the lot for someone else to buy
What GOG is saying is this; "Take this car for a test drive, perhaps you'll want to buy it!"
Still a better attitude than; "Fuck you, we'll ruin your games with DRM and everyone but the pirates will be affected by this."
zarx; you have nothing pirated on your PC? MP3's, TV shows, movies? There are more horrible things to do in this world than pirate stuff, I hardly think pirating games makes you a bad person by default. What about services like Grooveshark or free Spotify? Content available for use to end users without being paid for, its not like commercials income will rack up a fortune (and Grooveshark doesn't even have advertising at all).
PS: For the record, no I don't pirate my games but I do download TV shows on torrent sites since they either show up here a year after everywhere else or simply isn't available at all.
I think there is a reasonable amount of DRM and an unreasonable amount of DRM.
The point where it crosses the line is where it goes from an incovenience when installing the game to the point where it's an inconvenience when playing the game. Perhaps the worst case of ridiculous DRM is Diablo 3 - when it gets cracked the pirated version is going to be a far better product for the single player game than the legal version and that simply should not be the case.
They are also right in saying that the number of pirated copies != number of sales lost. The actual number of sales lost will be a fraction of that number.
